The Mel Bridgeman that the Flames got was not the Mel Bridgeman that played for the Flyers and could hide behind some of the alpha goods that team had.
He came here and he became pretty much the softer side of sears Mel Bridgeman.
Though you have to admit it was a pretty bad trade when they shipped Bridgman and Russell off for Quenneville (who was flipped for Volcan) and Tambellini.

I didnt realize The Corral used to have 'Flintstone Car' parking. If you werent affluent enough to own a car did they at least provide a hitchin' post for the Dinosaur that you rode to the game?

I think we had team that matched up better with the Islanders than Minnesota did, who fell in 5 games in the Final. We had size and toughness, we were tough at home (only 5 losses in the regular season in the Corral that first year) and we showed we could win a big game on the road with a game 7 victory at the Philadelphia Spectrum in round 2.
