Also Bautista (mutual option), there is $18 million right there.
The big ones are Bautista, Liriano and Estrada. $46 million for those three alone, or roughly 29% of the entire payroll.
Yeah....

Carrera & Goins: One, one of our best hitters this year and the other our best hitter with RISP this year. Who possibly could've seen that coming?
Good on them.

Giant idiot at the Jays game. Can anyone spot him?

Crazy off-topic, but when did this become a thing? Before it was good for them, now it's good on them? Just a little something I've noticed for the past year or so as this saying is taking off.

It's nearing August long weekend, am I a band-wagon Jays fan?
Looks around, shamelessly.
Nope.
Carry-on.

Fangraphs had a write-up on Sean Reid-Foley, as well as a failed 2011 signing that was later drafted by PIT:
Prognosis for Reid-Foley isn't super great. Sounds like he has had some control and consistency issues this season.
Another interesting tidbit. The 2011 draft where we drafted Tyler Beede in an attempt to sign him out of college. The Jays also drafted Luke Weaver and Aaron Nola. Damn!

Jays place RHP Danny Barnes (shoulder) on 10-day DL. Recall LHP Matt Dermody from Buffalo AAA.

Valdez pitched well.
And nice catch Jose. Smith is back and looked good to finish the 7th

Not looking good at all tonight. Down 2-0 and bats cold as ice again.
There is NOTHING to suggest this team has it in them to make any sort of meaningful run to become relevant for this year and dig themselves out of their rather deep hole. Just not good enough.
The only thing to do for the rest of this year is to have low expectations, as in hope for wins but don't expect them.

Yeah, just a brutal season. Tons of injuries combined with too many holes in the line up and not enough of our best players actually playing like our best players.
It's even more frustrating because Boston and NYY keep stumbling and nobody is running away with the division.
