Default 2017 Flames Ambassadors Celebrity Poker Tournament

I'm so pumped! My work sponsors this event, this year it's being held at the Grey Eagle on the 16th, and as a result I get to go. Any tips from posters who may have been to last year's? Any knowledge of which Flames or alumni are good poker players? For the silent auction part are there things for everyone to bid on or just the extremely wealthy?

Cheers!

I'm in this as well! Can't wait, 1st time for me. Although, I was randomly picked as a STH.

My buddy bought a table at the Stamps poker tourney and got an automatic in.

Again, this should be sweet!

It's tons of fun. I've been in all except one.
Bring cash for re-buys and add-ons.
Regarding silent auction items, some get high, but some are still reasonable.

Book Friday morning off work. Trust me.

Have fun, and I'll look for you at the final table!

Are the rebuys and add-on the full amount? When I registered you could pre-buy rebuys for half.

Just curious...

Had a great time! I finished in third place! Still don't think I'm allowed to post pictures but I'm going to check with a mod and see if I can get that changed since I've been a part of CP for over a couple of years now with no issues. $2500 cash, a couple of top-shelf Flames tickets, some Oakley sunglasses and I get to drive a Tesla for 24 hrs.

Took out Derek Wills so I got his jersey and free lettering for whoever I want to put on it. Got the family pass at cop at the silent auction for $350 bucks which is worth $1250 plus tax. On the pick a card for fifty bucks and get a prize I won with four cards a Samsung VR, a Fitbit, a zip line for two at cop, an oil change and two gift cards at Willow Park of unknown value.

I was originally was seated at Matthew Tkachuk's table, was later transferred to Brad Treliving's table and was seated next to him, took out Derek Wills at the second last table, and was seated next to Dennis Wideman at the final table.

This is definitely a memory I will cherish forever!!!

Ive worked these tourneys in the past as a barkeep. They're always too fun. Whats buy in? Ive recently started playing quite a bit of poker and would love to play next year.

Congrats on the finish. usually fans/civilians do really well in this tourney. glad you took home a haul.

Thanks.

I believe there is only two ways to get in. You have to sponsor the event with a donation of at least $5,000 (starting at and going up from there) and for that you get two seats into the tournament. The other way is if you're a season ticket holder I believe you're automatically put into a draw to be able to buy a seat for $650.

I have wanted to go to this since it started 12 years ago I never thought I would be able to. I don't have 5 grand to donate and I'm not a season ticket holder. I was very fortunate that my work made a donation and gave me a seat. I'm an avid poker player and even a bigger Flames fan so this was so on my bucket list!

There are many levels of sponsorship which get you different numbers of players.
The entry level sponsorship is $2,000.00.

Congrats buddy. I played in 2009 and also made the final table. I finished in 6th place. The only Flame to finish higher than me was Brandon Prust. Any players make it to the final table with you?

Did you have to rebuy? Playing was also a memorable moment for me. I knocked out Roger Millions. I also won the Top Shelf experience. You will love it.

Rubbing elbows with all the players was my favourite part.

Ya, that was a great night. I took out Gelinas & Sarich. Unfortunately it was after they had already given up their jerseys...

I won a ton of booze at the 52 pick up game. Won a dinner for 4 with wine pairings at Centini's in the silent auction, for my rebuy & addon they gave me $300 to Vintage Chop House.

I got knocked out with 4 tables left, on the Wideman table. Went and played on a cash table with Ken King, won $200 there and put it to another game which got me a unnamed Top Shelf game in march.

All that and a open bar and food plus a new cowboy hat and a Flames leather lined flask.

Seriously great time!!

Thank you.

I've been playing since 2004. I was a part of the whole, "If this Chris Moneymaker guy can become world champion with never having played in a live poker tournament in a casino before then I can at least win some money playing.

My bad. How new you are has nothing to do with it. I'm just a computer illiterate old timer.
