I've done it since the patch, still as good.

(they eliminated a boss drop, which the equipment sucks anyway regardless)

Did a quick test this morning with 101 GF in Hell difficulty.

Looks like in 12 mins I can do it 5 times and get about 14k. Also got one decent piece that might fetch a few thousand on the AH.

I guess if I am tight for cash it certainly works.

so who has unlocked Whimsyshire? i've played through it on normal and nightmare with a buddy who has the staff, but i'm unable for the life of me to get any of the components to make my own. i did probably 2 dozen runs at Leoric's Manor on normal mode to try and find his shinbone in the fireplace, but it never spawned once. the only piece i have so far is the mushroom

I spent a couple hours last night and got them all. I have the normal and nightmare ones.

It was a pain in the ass and I actually got a couple of the items after saying, "frack, I'll try one more time and if I don't get it I'm going to bed." I did look on YouTube for a couple hints about finding the items.

It's $500K for the hell staff so I'm on the fence about getting it because, with my current gear, nightmare is pretty easy. I might just downgrade my stuff to gold find and run through nightmare a bit.

The stuff for the staff was pretty easy, but I had the mushroom and rainbow stuff before I even knew what it was for. I thought the shinbone was the easiest of the rest of it, the most annoying, aside from the money, was the stuff from the frozen cave. I think I had to do that 15-20 times to get it, and it's not a short clear like it is in the manor.

In the end, at least for level 60, I think it is far better to do Whimsy than to do scoundrel, since you get NV to amplify the gold. That is a pretty big investment though, especially at Hell.

I got the gemstone from the frozen cave randomly on one of my runs but I could see how that would be a huge pain in the ass. The actual plans was the last thing I tried to get and it was the most annoying because after you kill Izual, if he doesn't drop it, you have to log out and start the quest again.

I wonder if that is why they nerfed Nigel in the latest patch.

I made 1 million gold yesterday in about 5 hours farming act 4 inferno mini boss run. My WD has 28k DPS but had to go down to 35k health. Its cheesy farming but can net a huge gain.

Edit: Sorry I meant selling drops not from gold dropping. Very little gold drops its all about big pay drops.

Also at 60 had 3 legendaries total drop. An axe, shield and helm all crap

Most of the legendary stuff I've seen kinda suck. I lucked out with a monk helm I got, with dex, vit and life %. Useful stats for my monk. It's since been replaced by a much better rare item.

I got a Legendary hand weapon that was worse than the rare I was using on my level 32 monk, so I put it up on the AH for 50k and actually got the buyout price.

What do you typically do with rare and magical items? I just salvage them for the most part. So annoying to get rares for a class you aren't even using.
