This is Eriksson's second time on waivers this season, no?

Yeah. Just the Canucks resetting the waiver timer so that they can still move him between taxi squad and nhl roster freely.

Probably would have seen the Flames do something similar with Derek Ryan if he was healthy.

I'm sure someone will take a flyer on Anisimov, no?

Seems more like a bad fit in Ottawa rather than a decline in the player...

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

From what I've heard, his play kind of fell off a cliff. Seemed to happen around the time he signed that big contract. Cap hit is gonna keep other teams away from a reclamation project.

Anisimov has been awful in Ottawa. His decline has been pretty Frolik-like — except he started from a lower peak.

Anisimov would easily have been claimed if not for the quarantine requirements. He's owed peanuts right now due to frontloaded contract and a signing bonus. He's near league minimum in terms of actual salary.

But the other Canadian teams don't really have the cap and the rest of the league can't bother to wait a couple weeks for him to be ready. Maybe a bottom of the barrel claims him just hoping to be able to flip him at the deadline.

How we got any value for trading Frolik last year still boggles my mind.

There is no 2 week quarantine for entry into the US. Just the NHL COVID protocol.
