I love this kid. He was killing Domi in the fight and he stops, looks at the refs and seems to say "Are you going to stop this? I'm going to kill this guy"

Taking a while to get to 5000

Jeff Marek on NHL Network this morning kept calling him Garrett and then inferred that Domi beat him up.
Rage....

".500" refers to points%, not win%, because at the end of the season the only thing that matters is points%. The standings are ultimately ordered by points%. Win% is completely irrelevant when it comes to the standings.

Completely wrong.
Ex: Two teams battling for the final playoff spot have records of 40-26-16 (.488 win%) and 42-29-11 (.512 win%). The team with the lower win% makes the playoffs. Win% is irrelevant.

I don't know why people are hung up about how to measure ".500". It is pretty clearly a reflection of points accumulated in games—that is all. So long as we recognise that historically speaking a playoff berth more than likely will require a points percentage of .580 or better, there is no problem.

Yes, less rational hockey talk, more cheerleading!

I never saw Brouwer as a pest. More of a net front presence with toughness, but not with the attitude that Tkachuk has.
Either way, not really sure what your point is? That Brouwer is overpaid? That Tkachuk is underpaid (he's supposed to be)? Brouwers bringing about what I expected. I'd like to see more points, but we have enough other offensive weapons that it's not necessary. Anything he pots is gravy.
Brouwer's a UFA signing. They almost always have about $1m/1y extra than they would have otherwise.

I would also add, that we will probably see Brouwer's real value when we get into March/April and if we make it into the playoffs.

HUGE WIN!! Good job boys, keep er' rolling!!

The mandate of the new system is everything goes up the ice, no evading back into your own zone with the puck to open up the ice, push it forward. So you're not going to see that Brodie again under this new system.
It appears to be working.

Or you can simply look at the standings by point percentage.

I missed parts of the game, including the three fights mentioned in the game review on the Flames site. Can anyone tell me where I might find the fights?

Sometimes unabashed cheerleading is a good thing. It's kinda why we all became fans in the first place.

#Flames GM Brad Treliving is on @SNHockeyCentral, talking about the #Flames turnaround. Calls training camp "clunky" ... Exactly.

It's also what drives posters to wanting to fire the coach after 5 games, to trade hamilton and to bench Monahan.
