Baring any unforeseen circumstances, Colorado Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla will play in his 1,500th career game on Saturday. He will become only the 16th player in NHL history to reach that milestone

I hope he picks it up offensively this year and gets moved to a team needing depth for a playoff run. I would love if he could lift a cup and retire this offseason. Cementing him as a first ballot hall of famer.
Unreal career. One has to wonder how much of an impact it would have had on African Americans in hockey if he had played in NY or LA or CHI with more visibility.
Congrats Iggy! You are forever a gentleman.

He's already cemented as a first ballot hall of famer.
Time for the Flames to keep on rolling, get to the deadline and realize they need an off-wing one-timer on the PP, and then acquire Jarome. It would be magical.

Congrats Iggy! You are "forever a FLAME".

Agreed. And so much nicer for him to retire this way as a Flame instead of the dorky "sign for a day" ceremony.

What an accomplishment! Way to go Iggy. Even more impressive since he missed a season and a half thanks to the lockouts.
Hopefully he picks it up and has another season left. 1613 puts him in the top ten all time for games played. Even if he doesn't get there, it's been an incredible career already.

He'll forever be my favorite Flame. Amazing player.
I haven't watched much of the Avs this year, and I just noticed he only has 6 points in 24 games. I'm guessing he's been stuck on their 4th line all season and is more of a role player these days? Does he not get PP time anymore?
I like Iggy as much as the next Flames fan, but I really don't want him back on this team.
He is but a shadow of his once great self.
C'mon guys. Surely you can see this has played out in every Iginla thread (and any non-Iginla threads) in the past four years? Can we please just leave this one for what it actually is?

When his career is over everyone will talk about the goals and points but Jarome especially in his early years played a hard nosed game yet over his career has proven to be remarkably durable.

I'll get to see him the next day in Toronto against the Leafs. Jarome's one of the best ever. He deserves all the accolades that he receives. Great career.
