I see the benefits for both sides, but think Sharks get a steal with Stastny (since they have tons of cap room) and a top tier prospect in Necas.

Very happy with this trade. We loved Hanzal's contract but needs a big raise after this season that we were not prepared to give. We like Stastny and would have made an offer in free agency but decided to prioritize J. Johnson instead but we think what Stastny got on the market is fair and think he is overall a better hockey player than Hanzal.

The cherry on the cake was getting Necas. In the last couple of months the Sharks have added some excellent assets without taking away too much OV from our team. After seeing us rated near the bottom of the league is overall asset value, we have added:
