Head to BBQ's Galore in Edmonton Trail and have a look at the Broil King lines. They range from $250-$1000plus I bought my dad a Monach model for Christmas it was $400 and a great BBQ. I have had a Sovereign 90 myself for about 6 years and it has run flawless. I replaced the burners and grills about 2 months ago because they were gone and it was a $150 tune up to make it good as new again.

For a natural gas Broil King with a side burner he will be looking at about $500 at least though, so depending of his budget it might not be a good fit.
Edit: Just saw his reply. Nothing to see here.

I bought my Broil King from Rona during one of their frequent 15% off events. Might be worth waiting for one of those if you can.

Good to know, sometimes I kick myself for not getting the infrared grill.
Napoleon has a line of BBQs that are made in China that can be bought at Canadian tire. I would not recommend buying one of these. The ones made in North America are well built and use good quality steel.

Can anyone recommend a good place to find oversized grill covers (75" long)?

My wife bought me one from Costco last year. IT is better quality than the Vermont Castings cover provided by the manufacturer.
For the record, i own a Vermont Casting 5 burner grill. I bought the last of the Canadian models during the clear out when they were purchased by an American company seven years ago. Don't know if quality has changed in that time but my grill still works like the day i bought it. I have not replaced anything and even the burners are still in great shape. Great grill

Good call. Forgot about Costco.
Looks like the large one might fit if they have a little spare room beyond the posted dimensions. Officially it's 1/4 in. short on the length and 1 1/4in on the depth, but it might still do the trick.
75" Cover: 75 in. x 26 in. x 42 in.
Mirage 730: 75.25 x 27.25x49.5
Another question. Does everyone religiously cover their grills after each use? I used to with the old one, but our new house has a covered deck, and I found we were bbq'ing all year, even in some cold weather, and the covers were such a pain when cold that we just stopped. Carried on that way through the summer just buffing up the stainless steel from time to time. Now that we have a shinny new one, I'm ready to start covering it again, but I suspect we'll quickly go back to old habits.

With a covered deck I don't think I'd bother.

If you want/need a custom cover I am pretty sure that Sliver could build you one. I think that's what his business does. (Not specifically BBQ covers, but canvas or something like that)

With the wicked weather the last few weeks, I decided to try my hand at a Bolero recipe. Took pineapple, covered it in cinnamon and BBQ'd it to a light char. Fantastic dessert, nice and light as well. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Finally in the market for a quality, long lasting BBQ (Weber, Napoleon, etc), I assume the best bet is to just troll RedFlagDeals to watch for a sale?

For best value, I'd recommend a Broil King. Probably from Rona during one of their 15% off weekends.

Ha, today only is 15% @ Rona. Was thinking of the Weber Genesis (would be $750 with that for natural gas).
Honestly never considered Broil King as I assumed it would be another cheapo Chinese one that i'll just end up replacing in 4 years.
I'll read into the Broil King Signet

How often do you guys replace the heat plates. I'm using natural gas and they've gotten quite rusty.

Any recommendations for a place to get a replacement regulator(with attached hose) for a propane setup? Just want something fairly cheap, online would work too.

I bought a Napoleon prestige 500 natural gas BBQ recently and upgraded to the stainless steel grills instead so long story short I have a new cast iron set new in the box if you are interested.

With the first summer of home-ownership coming up, I am looking to get a nice new BBQ to hook up to the natural gas line. I want something that has good, even heat, is low maintenance (stainless steel grates?). A side burner would be a nice feature.
I have been looking at the Weber Genesis S330 and the Broil King Sovereign 90/XLS 90
Weber: http://www.weber.com/grills/series/g.../genesis-s-330
Broil King: http://www.broilkingbbq.com/grills?s...model_id=98884
What are people's takes on these? The Weber will be approx $200 more depending on where I go.
Any other suggestions?
Main uses will be to grill steaks, hotdogs, chicken, burgers and lots of veggies. Might do the odd meal of ribs. Want something to last a long time and work well for parties of 4-12 for entertaining (though most nights it would be for just 2).

I was in the same boat, and it came down to:
Weber Genesis E-310
Broil King Baron 440 / Signet 70 or 90
Both are North American built, quality ranges. Can't go wrong with either on sale or a 15% off day at Lowes/Rona.
