They are also supposed to release a re-edited version of Season 4 to put it into chronological order. Last year, Ron Howard tweeted some pictures of the new scripts he was doing the narration for.
Hopefully, those will be released soon.

In talks with Netflix we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days

I kind of fear that the new season will be like going back to the same bar you went to at 21 and you're now in your 30s. You went back once at 26, and it was just ok, not the same but fine. But too much time time has now passed.

Well, they already reunited once for the fourth season, how did it feel then?
^^ They also released a "remixed" version of season 4 which is 22 episodes of 22 minutes in length. I've watched the first 3-4 and it definitely paces a lot better than the original season 4.
Netflix has announced Season 4 will be split in half with 8 episodes out on the 29th and 8 out later in the year. Still better than watching an episode a week but dammit I wanted them all at once.
Also, Portia De Rossi has announced she is quitting acting and is supposedly only written into 5 episodes. This concerns me a bit as Season 5 could have the same problems as Season 4 if the full cast isn't appearing in every episode. That said Lindsay is the least interesting of the Bluths and had the worst story of Season 4 so I'm sure the writers can work something out if she is the only one missing.

So whats going on with this remix? I could barely stand it when it came out so I'm wondering if I should re-watch the 4th season.
It's all the same footage from the 4th season, but they've re-edited it to be more like the 1-3 seasons (22 minute episodes, each episode no longer focuses on one character). They've also had to redo a lot of the narration, so Ron Howard is the only actor to do anymore work on the remix. It's still not quite as good as the first 3 seasons, but it's still pretty good.
Something I didn't notice the first time through, is the 4th season gives a lot of hints that Tobias is a black man who's gone through vitaligo.
Update: Jason Bateman has since issued an apology for failing to reassure Jessica Walter during the interview as well as for calling the industry 'a breeding ground' for Tambor's alleged behaviour. Tony Hale has also spoken out on the interview claiming he reached out to Walter to personally apology.
