Default Crosby nearly slashes Methot's finger off

Crosby delivers a slash to Marc Methot as he's coming over the offensive blueline that looks as though it cut part of Methot's finger off.

For the love of lord Xenu, viewer discretion advised:

https://streamable.com/vgjx6

Brutal slash, brutal video.

How will the wheel of justice handle this? That HAS to be worth 2 games minimum.

You could show me a clip of 50 slashes from the various NHL games tonight and there's no chance I would know this one nearly cut a guys finger off.

Hope he gets a few games. If that happened to him, he'd expect the book to be thrown at the other player.

No kidding. From the angle it looked pretty innocuous...well, as innocuous as a slash can be I suppose.

Crosby probably caught him just right, but holy hell that is gory.

Want to stop all the useless hacking and whacking, NHL? Slap your golden child with a suspension. I dare you.

Wow. That finger looked gross. But this is the poorest officiated pro sports league in the world and Crosby, who has been doing this his whole career, won't get squat.

Wasn't even that bad, just hit him in the wrong spot. Gaudreau gets slashed harder every game.

That is actually bizarre! It must have hit him in the absolute perfect spot. I watched it three times but looks like a pretty routine slash you'd see thousands of times a season?

Not sure it's worth a suspension personally and I'm no Crosby apologist.

I think Methot gets 2 games for getting blood on Crosby's stick.

What, the NHL is gonna start calling slashes now? The only time they did that was to the Flames of all teams AFTER Johnny got injured from a slash.

Crosby's not getting anything since this happens all the time.

We all know that slashing someone in the hands isn't actually against the rules

As I mentioned in the other thread, Crosby? Not even a hearing. Also similar to his woodwork to the other guy's junk the other game, TSN just laughs the slash off.

That's the thing. We all know if Crosby got the tip of his finger slashed off Method would be taking a few games off without pay. It's the other way around and we all know what's coming which is probably a fine at best.

I wish a slash to the hands was a penalty...not just a 3% chance of one.

Yeah, I agree. I've seen the headlines about this and this was the first chance I had to see a video and I was expected 1000x worse, that is was just a fluke.
