Icon24 Campbell back to Chicago (1yr $2.25 mil)

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
As many have speculated, Brian Campbell has made his decision and it's going to be a return to Chicago. Likely a one-yr deal around $2M

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Campbell's contract will have bonuses in it as well I think

I forgot he was still around. Feels weird to see his massive contract done and dusted.

That's a nice little deal for both sides.

Made a little over $7 million last year. This might be his last NHL contract.

One can only hope that the bonus overages of Panarin and Campbell put the Hawks into even more cap trouble next season.

That would surprise me. It sounded like they were ready to move on from him leading up to today's activities.

I hate Chicago, they always find ways to continue to get players on the cheap to plug holes.

This signing makes little sense at all to many 'Hawk fans...

Campbell was a Tallon guy, not a Q/Bowman guy, Q was hesitant to fully trust him in critical playoff situations. even when he was younger.

Moreover, by tying up two D spots with 37yo guys, (Rozival (more later on him)) impedes any chance for Gustafsson, Svedberg, or Pokka to get NHL experience.

The signing, for many 'Hawk fans, that COMPLETLY will wreck our season, was the signing of that zombie on skates, Michael Rozival...Good f'n Lord...A Pylon would be an upgrade over Rozi...the guy CANNOT skate with NHL level players...and will end up dooming the season, as ol' cement for skates lets every forward in the league blow by him...ruining his D-partner, probably TVR, in the process, to boot. The guy was washed up seasons ago.

He clarified that tweet, apparently that was the offer on the table before the Panthers went for Yandle

I never see a one year small term deal as ever being too terrible. Small risk, big upside
