I wonder if his assistant during his days in the Dallas organization Paul Jerrard will be considered. They spent a considerable amount of time coaching together.

What about Bruce Cassidy? He has coached the Providence Bruins the last 5 seasons. In the last 4 seasons Providence has had a top 10 PP and the best PP the last seasons. They also had the 2nd best PK last season and a top 10 PK 3 of the last 5 seasons.

He has previous NHL experience as head coach in Washington for two seasons and an assistant in Chicago under Trent Yawney for 1 season.

Well apparently I missed the part where he was promoted to assistant in Boston, so never mind.

Glad it's not French. Has not impressed me with the Hitmen.

News Update

Eric Francis @EricFrancis
One of the names I'm hearing in terms of hiring a #Flames assistant coach is Tim Hunter, which would be a popular choice. #nhl

I love Tim Hunter, he is also very experienced as an assistant coach (over 10 years as an assistant IIRC) and not only has ties to the Flames but Burke as well.

News Update

Eric Francis @EricFrancis
Another name I'm hearing for assistant coach in Calgary is Craig Berube. Interesting duo to have him and Tim Hunter potentially back.

Wasn't what I was expecting when Burke said the team needed to get bigger, but I guess it would technically be true.

Jeez, other teams coaches would be afraid to even look over towards our bench - let alone try to start a fight with our coaching staff in the hallway.

Tim Hunter and Craig Berube on the bench would be quite funny.
