Salary mostly irrelevant on a one year deal.
In Weber, Shaw and Radulov.
Out Subban and Eller
Be interesting to see how this plays out.

I like the signing. Im sure management talked to Weber before it was done. 1 year deal and Montreal has money to spend and cap space.
It will be real interesting is Radulov has a great season. He will want $$$ and term. Someone will give it to him. Thats where there could be risk.

That salary though. O.o

I actually like what Bergevin has done. Eller was not playing very inspired hockey the last couple years.
Subban's antics on the ice have always bothered me.
Montreal's major liability was in their own end and I think Weber really stabilizes that for them.
Radulov will have elder statesmen and much respected Andrei Markov to perhaps influence Radulov in being a better teammate.
And Shaw is a great pickup who can play anywhere in that lineup.
Weber and Radulov will more than makeup for Subban's production and Shaw makes them tougher to play against.

Weber was captain when radulov was acting like a goof. They must have consulted Weber to be ok with this and to be able to monitor and help control this guy

Can't believe people are actually complaining about this deal. It's one year. It's 2nd line money. He's a very talented hockey player. The downside risk is really pretty minimal if it doesn't work out.

And the upside is, assuming a healthy Carey Price, is that he adds enough scoring to maybe make the Habs legit.
But will Therrien still manage to hand significant PP time to Deharnais over Galchenyuk and now Radulov as well - or will their 25th ranked PP finally improve significantly? Muller should help that

On the other hand winning games is good for locker room atmosphere.
High risk, high reward signing. I think Montreal is well placed to try it.

Radulov: 2G, 3A in 6 games.
Weber: 2G, 5A in 6 games.
Habs 5-0-1 to start season... I'd say Radulov signing is better than the Semin signing that someone asked earlier in the thread...

Some may wonder why Radulov's energy and eccentricity will be loved while Subban was traded, but it's pretty black and white, imo.

And then Price got hurt. If he stays healthy this year, Habs will be good.

On tv they actually said that Weber was consulted and that he told them Radulov was okay and that the earlier issue was just immaturity.

Radulov sure looked great last night. Fans were chanting his name, 3 points and first star. Weber was 2nd star. Habs management looking like geniuses.... so far.

Radulov has looked great. The Montreal team overall is absolutely crap, sans a handful of players. If it weren't for great goaltending, I'd personally put the team in the bottom 5 of the league. This early in the season they're doing well, but if I were to bet I'd have them out of the playoffs. Price is a savior though.
