A quick thought on Baertschi
I know it's in vogue to hate on a trade once they've moved, but I noticed something this evening that I'm wondering if others picked up on.
During the post-game interview with the Hot Stove Lounge, when asked what went wrong for the Canucks, Baertschi blamed... the reffing. He blamed poor calls, saying goalie interference is what sunk them.
I found that odd.
No responsibility; just passing the buck. Now maybe I'm reading too far into this, but this feels like exactly the kind of reason he didn't succeed here - an inability to own up.
I get that it's a heartbreaking thing to lose, but did anyone else catch this and feel like it might be systemic with the kid? A sense of entitlement/inability to accept and learn from failure?
