13 points in 17 games is not almost PPG. He only has 2 goals at that level. I don't see a lot in his game that is exceptional.

You don't have to agree, but I don't think much of him.

Let me restate that Bourque isn't a good enough prospect to overcome the lack of interest I have in Sam Steel as the pro player.

*sigh* I wish I didn't have to justify my opinion on every single prospect ever. People rank guys differently, and that's okay.

I haven't seen him play at all except maybe a game of that WJC, so I don't know anything but the numbers. He is #44 on that list The Cobra mentioned, Honzek is #41.

Vancouver success is due just as much to their top lines as their 3rd and 4th.
Like it or lump it the Canucks have the best 3rd line in hockey and their 4th line is top 3 in league.
That's nice but it doesn't matter because there is no way the Flames accepts that Canucks offer in the first place.

Kuzmenko is a cap dump at this point. Last year he shot 27%.

He's a star all the Canucks fans said. Now he's back to a normal shooting % and he's having trouble staying in the lineup.

Guess who is shooting over 20% this season? Hoglander.

We can't trade him the Canucks fans say. He's doing amazing on the third line!

Next year he goes back to being a pumpkin.

Why do the Flames want to take on essentially $7 million in cap space for guys that aren't worth their cap hit for Lindholm?

I'm not a trade proposal guy and haven't looked at other team's pending UFAs who are centermen. But surely Lindholm is at the top of the list...right? He should be the team's best tradeable asset since Iginla I'd imagine. Shooting centers seem to be more rare then the playmaking variety, and I think shooters slot into lineups easier then playmakers do. Surely a right-handed shoot-first top 6 C is right at the top of every contenders list.

I'll be annoyed if the team locks him up at his age for 10M+, and even more annoyed if they botch this trade. I will riot if they hold onto him in some desperate attempt to make the playoffs. For once in my life I'd like to see the Flames return a king's ransom at the deadline.

13. Mavrik Bourque, C, Dallas Stars
Mavrik Bourque’s speed, IQ and decision-making remain his greatest strengths every time he’s out on the ice. He was an essential piece for the Shawinigan Cataractes as he helped lead them to a QMJHL Championship two seasons ago. Bourque had a great season in the AHL last year where he established himself as a great pro player with a 47 point rookie year which includes 20 goals. However, he has taken a significant step forward again as he’s tied for the league-lead in points, on pace to double his point total from last season.

It's funny how angry Oiler fans are at the Canucks this season lol.

I like my Jets trade better than the Lucius one. Replace Appleton with Heinola in the Julian McKenzie one and it sits better.

If they play each other it will be the only time I'm ever cheering for the Oilers.

What was your Jets trade?

As far as I know these aren't even real offers that Conroy is thinking about, just something someone at The Athletic dreamed up. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh A.B.E. anybody but Edmonton. I hate that city and that franchise more than anywhere or anything on God's green earth.

It just continues to blow my mind how some fans get fooled by shooting percentage season after season after season.

Hoglander has 14 goals and 6 assists.

Now that is a sustainable stat line if I ever saw one.

The Dallas offer blows the Canucks anti-offer out of the water.

Lindholm for Lambert and Heinola. No picks.

Yeah, I don't mind the Dallas one.

Hoglander is kind of intriguing, mostly cause I hear is name 75 times a game when they play the Flames. Don't want the other guy though, and I would much rather just have Bourque from Dallas or Ritchie from COL (although he kinda seems like a Dube, so maybe not).

Yeah, that's a good one too. I wonder if Winnipeg would trade them, or Lucius for that matter.

1. Flames
2-30. Anybody
31. Edmonton
32. Vancouver

But I understand I'm probably in the minority for having that order.

Well, Hoglander is on the 4th line so put that in your pipe and smoke it!

But while his goals are nice and timely, it's not the goals that have Canucks fans reluctant to trade him. It's his age, his puck hounding hard forchecking style, and how cheap he will be for the next couple of years. As an Oiler fan, I know you have a hard time understanding that people will look at something that makes a hockey player good other than goal scoring but I can assure you that we do do this!

Love yoooooou.

DO we really want someone with motivation issues?

We just waived one. Trading a prime trade chip for another doesn't seem like the right move.

Maybe expectations should be ..elevated?

Crazy prices have been paid on deadline day and will be again.
These are right in line with the value of a normally 60-70 point two way Selke caliber C who can be added with only a minimal cap hit with the Flames retaining. This is the type of value that should be expected, Lindholm is easily the hottest commodity going this deadline. People need to stop having this mindset that everything will always turn up dog#### for the Flames.

the others are guys like Sean Monahan, Adam Henrique and Nic Dowd. Lindholm hasn't had a great season, but yeah, he's still the top forward available at the deadline and I don't think it's particularly close.
