#7 seed certainly gives us a less than ideal path to success. I think we have a decent chance of getting past Tucson. But it would guarantee a meeting with CV in the 2nd, which I am not excited for.

Thats even worse than last year! If I recall correctly we were the top seed last season and had to choose between hosting game 1 or having game 2/3 in Cgy. This year the top seed gets all 3 at home??
Am I misremembering this? Regardless, AHL playoff formats are awful and do nothing to encourage a fan following.
edit: Actually I looked it up and we had a bye in round 1 last season. The goofiness happened in round 2 and 3 where we chose to start at home but the lower seed team would get 3 games at home if it went the distance (best of 5). I still maintain that AHL playoffs and scheduling is terrible for fan engagement.

Sends a message to the fans. Saving airfare and hotel expenses are more important than you.

Game day!
Would love to know the lines. Any chance the young guys get into the lineup?
Would be cool to see a Pelletier Zary Coronato line.

I don’t believe Zary was assigned to the AHL for the playoffs

Draft Pick

Thanks!
Have to say that doesn’t install a lot of excitement or confidence. I look forward to hopefully seeing more high ceiling prospects work their way through the system in the coming years with our stockpile of picks.
I do think the organization has done a really good job of drafting and internal growth post Iggy Era. This feels like a bit of a low point based off of graduated players and Honzek, Lipinski, Morin, Brzustewicz, Suniev, etc not being there yet.

I wonder if Brz is there just to practice and soak up the pro environment or if he's going to dress?
Aspirotov
Poirierov
Grushnikov
Kuznetzov
Solovyov
Jurmov
Poolmanov
Oesterleov
Lyleov
Thats a lot of D to jump over assuming they're all healthy....
EDIT: Same with Morinov, I forgot about him and wonder if he draws in for the playoffs?

I really hope Hunter plays because he is by far the best D prospect we have and gives us the best chance to win that series, even having not played with the team yet. I love the player, I think he has top pairing upside.

Mark Pysyk as well. Wranglers are carrying 12 D, although Aspirot has played forward at times and recently

I'm assuming they're not bringing Ignatjew in on an PTO. They brought Jurmo over.

I hope every guy on thay roster gets a chance to show what they have and Cull determines the roster based on performance/ meritocracy.
If not this is a phenomenal job bybthe flames to get these guys in an environment together and get to know eachother . The future of the Flames is bright if these guys develop well at that level giving us an unreal amount of callup depth for the future and pushes vets on the flames to simply be way better.
Competion being created by a new philosophy seemingly created by Conroy insisting we see what our prospects have and I freaking love this.
I hope we see playoff.action here for a few games.....May the hockey gods shine down on the Wranglers and we see a deep run and Calder cup
