Default Box Office Mojo for video games?

Anyone know if a site like this exists? I'm always curious how some games do vs others or compared to their costs.

The game industry does not operate like the film industry. It is not transparent with game budgets and sales figures or profit margins. Best you can do is estimations or information gleaned from interviews and articles. You also will only get sales numbers most of the time with no indication of what prices constitute what sales. You are out of luck.

http://www.vgchartz.com/ is the closest you will get.

You can usually get sale numbers from vgchartz, but no one ever releases their budgets.

I know games like GTA IV and Red Dead cost over $200M to make and the Call of Duty games are pretty pricey too, but other than that I couldn't tell you.

Wikipedia says "$1M–4M in 2000 to over 5M in 2006 to over 20M in 2010", but I know for a fact that a lot of the AAA games cost in the 100's of millions (any Rockstar game, CoD games, etc.). Those $20M titles though are usually pretty terrible (movie tie-ins, etc.). Just to make budget for a $20M game you would have to see like 400,000+ copies sold, with no marketing.
