Help: Macbook can't see network.
I need some help, maybe some of you computer wizards can help me out. I just moved into a new condo and had the internet set up by Shaw. For some reason, I can see the network and connect to it with my Iphone, but I can't see it with my Macbook. I tried typing the name in manually and that doesn't work either. I can see all the networks around me as well, and I am sitting right next to the wireless box.
Anybody know what is wrong? All help appreciated!

Is your wireless antenna turned on on the Mac? Can you set up a access point on the phone and connect to it?

Ya, its on, I can see other peoples networks all around me....(I am a neighbours unlocked one to post this right now). Not sure what you mean by access point with the phone? I don't have a landline, just a cell.

You can make your phone an access point for other wireless devices if you have an iPhone 4, or a jailbroken 3Gs. If you can connect to other networks, then it doesn't really matter.
Are you sure you have the right network name?

I'd try dropping down to zero encryption, and see what happens. If that succeeds, move up to WEP encryption, and try again. If that succeeds, step up to WPA or WPA2 encryption.
It is possible (although unlikely...but definitely possible with 10.4) that it can't speak the WPA that the router wants to talk.

This happened to me a few months ago. Either call shaw because they will say the steps completely right, or try from what I remember
Go on the internet with your iPhone:
1) enter the ISP that is at the back of your router
2) enter the network name and admin password to sign in as an admin
3) Change the channel (Troubleshoot around for where to find it on the page, I don't remember. Change it to 4, try and see if you now see the network. If not, change to 7. Keep changing until your computer can see the network, and voila!
