I'm liking it so far. I've only played a dozen games in BaP but everything is wildly improved from 15.

I can't play this game until the hybrid control is fixed, and even if I could the servers seem to always be out.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but they have the game for $69 in Costco in Balzac.

Anyone know how to get world cup of hockey cards in hut? Not the player cards but the collectible that you can turn in?

I won a WCOH in the tournament mode and it didn't unlock anything.. Can't find where to unlock them but you can turn them into the set trader for goodies..

What is the benefit in completing a team set in hut? In previous years you get X gold packs depending on which team is completed. Is it the same this year or do u just get the team hero card??

Also good to mention that if you have xbox one, you can get EA Access for $30 for the year, or $5 a month, and play 10 hours for free as a preview of it, and after that it's 10% off.

How is that unbelievable in any way? It's pretty much expected at this point.

16 was a drastically different game to 15.

Not really. They just added back all the game modess they stripped out from 14.

This game is unplayable with the hybrid controls. Don't see how they could miss such a pretty big mistake. Will be returning the game most likely if they don't fix it soon.

Running list of gameplay things that are still annoying:

1. This is infuriating - when the goalie stops the puck on his pads, your AI d-man goes back and tries to pick it up, and pokes it into your own net. This happens all the time. It's happened to me at least a dozen times. This absolutely must be patched.
2. There are still some easy ways to score. It's somewhat too easy to just skate down the wing and hammer a slapshot from a terrible angle and have it leak through the goalie. I played a guy on the weekend who tried this on every rush.
3. Similarly, skating to below the circle and cutting across the net is an insta-goal. This isn't as bad because it's pretty easy to defend as long as you don't accidentally poke check it into your own net, but it shouldn't be an auto-goal. The goalie should at least stop them sometimes.
4. Really bugs me how on won offensive zone draws, the opposition's wingers can usually get to your d-man before he has time to do much of anything with the puck. That's nowhere near realistic.

Is there a way to play as another player during the draws? I don't really feel that involved in the faceoffs already (forehand draw wins 60-70% of the time). I would like to be like the computer and skate with a winger or d-man and intercept passes.

Learn to play full skill stick mode? Either way, what store in the world in the last 20 years has returned opened software?

Anyway, I don't understand all the vitrol (albeit the controls not working are the most valid complaint). It's the exact same thread if you dig up the EA threads for the last 5 years. I don't understand why everyone expects the game to be leaps and bounds above the year before anymore. I haven't played it a ton, but so far I've noticed the physics are a bit better (the puck doesn't seem glued to the stick anymore, more neutral zone action). Some glitch goals have been taken away, some have been added. Graphics are better (but not great, but at the very least not all the non-major players look like slack-jawed yokels). Some new lines have been added in the commentary. Is it am $80 roster update? Yes, but at the very least it's not an $80 roster upgrade then $200 through the year to make it playable. I certainly have my qualms with the game but I don't think it's as bad as wanting to burn down EA headquarters...

Putting in the old SNES cartridges, and the differences between NHL 94 and NHL 98 are even more minute.

Completely agree. While not an ideal fix, switching to the D-man counteracts that. Saved me a couple GA at least.
