In a world where Ryan Smyth was invited to the camp in 2009, a guy like Iggy should have merited an invitation. Nobody says you have to add him to the roster but leaving him off the summer camp lost is weak.

Who do you cut? Also why waste his time? It's not like being invited to the camp is going to be some big honor for him. He's been an absolute star for Team Canada and will probably be remembered as one of the best to wear the jersey.

I think he'll be fine without the invite.

I would bet Yzerman even gave him the choice for optics sake.

"Look Jarome, I could invite you for old times sake, but you're not going to pl...."

" Click..."

Also Jarome hates Calgary, why would he want to come back?...

Can you only invite 47 players?

I would rather not get invited than get a pity invite. If he lights things up with the Bruins he still may get a shot at making the team. This may just be the motivation Iginla needs to have a better season and not go into retirement quietly.

I doubt many people are going to come to watch orientation meetings and it has been said that it is unlikely that anyone gets on the ice due to insurance reasons.

Even more of a mystery is how Kevin Lowe is allowed anywhere near team Canada? What in the hell does Hockey Canada see in this clueless twit? He's great at sewering NHL teams to last place finishes. Other than that, I just don't get it!

Keith-Seabrook
Doughty-Weber
Pietrangelo-Subban

Crawford
Smith
I like your goalie picks and because Loserongo isn't on the list. Crawford should be the #1 guy in any case.

Ahh I see. So I am assuming the 16 hours of ice they booked is simply to keep other potential ice users out of the area then. Good to know.

The answer is right above your post in Hockey_Ninja's sig

I'm quite positive he knows a thing or two about winning

"There is only one other person working in hockey who has more Cups than me. I think I know something about winning."
-Kevin Lowe, April 15th, 2013.

Or in case they get the insurance issue worked out and are able to get on the ice.
