Time to age yourselves, where were you when the verdict came in?
The living room of my parents house (I'm old but not so old that I was living on my own).
My mom was shocked... I wasn't (OJ had way better lawyers, way better expert witnesses, way better everything). Money can't buy you everything... but it can buy you the legal expertise and resources to beat a double homicide.

The glove was the turning point. What a dumb strategy.
All of us can take a glove right now and struggle to put it on.

Which is a shame, I heard it was a pretty good riot.
I do have vague recollections of the OJ chase, but I think the trial is fuzzier for me because it just went on and on and on...so its hard to remember exactly when and where I was for the verdict.
And then theres more confusion between the Criminal Verdict and the ensuing Civil one.
I do remember, being the noted cynic that I am, laughing when I heard they found him not guilty.
Like...how much more do you want him to do to convince you he did it? Did he need to stab her on live TV on the steps of City Hall?
You being only 3 years older than me is a total mind ####.

I don’t remember the details but I think some documentaries alluded to incompetent or overwhelmed prosecution. In hindsight anything that is soaked in liquid like that would shrink and wouldn’t fit once dried. I don’t know if they poked a hole in that at the time but it’s crazy that he got away with it. Today I don’t think that would be the case as I don’t think jurors are as naive.

Don't forgot the racist cop, that would be deemed more racist today than 30 years ago.
And social media would be nuts. It wouldn't be such a big trail because nothing is really big anymore. There would be daily podcasts updating the day's proceedings etc....

Yeah for real... "Let's put the guy we're trying to convict in complete control of a piece of evidence!"... real genius move there guys. OJ's legal team had that won on their own they didn't even need that particular ADA own goal.
Most people remember him for his career as a football player, but he had a really great second career as a character actor in a long list of true crime documentaries.
The good die young.
C'mon, man. You can't forget to mention his commercials.

In todays world it would have been a bench trial. Getting an impartial jury in 95 was hard enough. Now? Never happening.

As has probably been mentioned as well though, it shouldnt be discounted just how staggeringly and stunningly incompetent the Prosecutors were.
The glove bit? If I was their boss I'd have beaten them to death with that glove after that ridiculous stunt.
I mean, they might as well have just let OJ stab them, in Court, in front the Judge and they probably couldnt have convinced a Jury that happened either.
Just...a Rodeo Clown could have convicted OJ of the most obvious crime in the world, but a panel of Professional Prosecutors couldnt?

You give lawyers way too much credit.
