I'm glad to see Taylor get the start. It barely makes sense to start an All Star caliber goaltender in back-to-back games, so, once Kipper went down, it was a given that whoever didn't start yesterday would start today.

This is the type of game that we always lose, but jm feeling good about it for some odd reason. Flames win 4-2.

You guys are actually both right...just refering to different plays.

MacDonald made a pretty big same on Jagr in the third on a quick turnaround play by Jagr.

Jagr also missed the net on a pretty good chance from the slot in the final minutes.

I'm all for feel good stories but when you are in a dogfight for a playoff spot you ride the goalie with NHL experience. Sorry Taylor

Guess I'm intrigued to see how he does though. See if he's worth that NHL contract.

Taylor has certainly shown he's a top tier goalie at the AHL level so he deserves a chance to see if he can translate that to some success at the NHL level. I like this move, give the kid a chance and see what he can do. Hopefully he plays well and Hartley has a tough decision to make for the next starting assignment. I'm going to predict a 3-2 Flames win with goals by Cammy, Hudler and Wideman. GO FLAMES!!!

Flaming C on the mask, I like it. Nothing against Joey Mac, but his Wings mask has to go.

Rooting for Taylor and hoping for a Flames win, although this is the kind of game they always lose. I'll be happily surprised if they take this one.

Danny Taylor does indeed make his #Flames debut tonight in Phoenix. Sounds like Sarich replaces Babchuk on the blueline.
sounds like good

My thoughts exactly. I think it was the unusual comeback last night that has me feelign optimistic. Was expected our usual: strong first, dead second, too little too late push in the third. Seeing them actually sustain pressure through the 3rd and win the game, was totally unexpected.

This is a chance for the Flames to get ahead. Back to back game. Puts them over .500. Against a team they are fighting with for that playoff spot. Typically, a game they lose miserably. But I'm feeling optimistic.

5-2 Flames. The Coyotes get the first and last goal of the game, but the rest is all Flames.

Good luck Taylor. Hopefully the guys in front of you don't collapse down low like they do with other inexperienced goaltenders.

Flames forwards and D have to play the same way they normally would in front of Kipper and Taylor will be fine.

Good to see Sarich back in.

Gutsy call by Hartely to change goaltenders tonight. THis is one of those bubble teams that the flames are fighting with for the last 2 spots.

Imagine that, three different goalies in three straight games for the Calgary Flames. Weird to even think about with all the Kipper we've seen over the years.

For as slow as Sarich may be, clearly better then out of rhythm or shape or both, Babchuk. 7 mins last night 95% of that in the first period.

With Wideman, they don't really need his shot on the PP, at least not so far in having to put up with him still getting up to speed on the PP, let alone his other skating and defending deficiencies right now.

Any further from Hartley on Jones, as promised yesterday?

Does anybody know what the league wide stats are looking like this year for teams on the second night of a back-to-back? I'm wondering if they're worse than usual with the compressed schedule.

If I recall correctly, they were somehwere a bit below 500 last year.

Are people really dumb enough to think, in seriousness, that Taylor is in tonight because Hartley has no faith in MacDonald? We're playing our third game in four nights, MacDonald - coming off a back injury - played nearly all of the first two. Seriously people, use your heads. This was always going to be one of those games where the backup gets the start. Even if Kipper was healthy.

I like how he's not glued to the goal line in that 3rd picture.

From Taylor's perspective, has nothing to lose and hopefully the team shows up to help him out. I love a good underdog story. Getting an NHL start this season was probably a pipedream just a couple of months ago.
