Same deal... community centre? If so, I've got a very healthy contribution to make once again. *burp*

Just out of curiosity are the blue bins taking away money from your groups? I hate to say it, but we just throw all of our bottles and such in there...

Our troop does very well - a few thousand every time. All camps and activities are paid for through the bottle drives.

Glad to hear it. I just wondered if people were as lazy as me! (We don't have a huge amount anyway, so its not like the groups are missing a goldmine they had in the past).

Absolutely,
If you won't be home on Sat morning you can drop bottles off at the Queensland Comm centre.
We'll be there from 8:30ish thru to 3-4 oclock.

Whenever I take my troops out for their bottle drives, I always end up learning (sometimes disturbing) facts about our neighbour's drinking habits.

I usually sit in my truck and wait for my 7 year old to
run to me screaming;
Jackpot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You come up empty for a half hour then 1 house just make their morning.
I usually end up making two overloaded trips to/from the drop off point.

Yeah, or getting into their garage and discovering that they're complete Hoarders and havent taken their bottles in for 45 years.

Great! Put them out front Saturday morning, and the boys will pick them up. (You may have got a flyer this week about the bottle drive).

Tell your kids that one ring of the doorbell is enough. A few weeks back I hear the sound of somebody running up my steps; ringing the doorbell like mad while trying the handle. I litterally dropped what I was doing (my lunch; onto the floor) because it sounded like something bad was happening outside. (I had visions of one of my neighbour's kids in trouble.)
First time in a long time that I sent bottle drive kids away empty handed.

I'll probably come by then! I have a bunch of big garbage bags of cans/bottles and a few cases of bottles I need to get rid of.

They shouldn't be ringing doorbells. They deliver flyers about a week before, asking people to leave bottles/cans outside for Saturday morning pick-up.

Yeah, and this likely wasn't the cubs either. It was a Sunday afternoon; and my bottles all went out to a girl's hockey team that came by Saturday morning. My guess is that the kids were getting frustrated with nobody having anything for them; as they were the 3rd group through that weekend.

Why would you do that? Man, if I knew you were so hard up for cash, I would have lent you some.
