Mangiapane ends the night with 2g1a. That's 50g on the season.

Well, maybe 1.8 PPG was too low a target, because he's at that right now with 4 games left to go....

1.85?

Mangiapane named OHL player of the week
http://new.ontariohockeyleague.com/a...er-of-the-week

Quote:
The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Calgary Flames prospect Andrew Mangiapane of the Barrie Colts is the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 13 after recording 11 points in three games scoring four goals with seven assists along with a plus-minus rating of plus-7.

Mangiapane reached a pair of monumental OHL milestones last week scoring his 50th goal and 100th point of the season helping the Colts clinch their second straight Central Division title. He was named first star in all three contests extending his personal scoring-streak to 10 games including seven-straight multi-point performances to match the Colts’ seven-game winning-streak. His week began with a pair of four-point efforts on the road scoring a goal and three assists as part of an 8-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday and in a 7-3 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Friday. Mangiapane hit both of his season milestones on Saturday scoring two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Peterborough Petes becoming just the fourth player in franchise history to score 50 goals. He also became just the fourth Colt to reach the century mark in back-to-back seasons joining teammate Kevin Labanc, a four-time weekly award winner, who accomplished the feat earlier this season.

A 19-year-old from Bolton, ON, Mangiapane is playing in his third career OHL season with the Colts after committing to the club as a free agent in 2013. The sixth round pick of the Flames in the 2015 NHL Draft is currently sixth in OHL scoring with 101 points in 56 games after producing 104 points in 68 games played during the 2014-15 campaign.

So he let in 5 goals in one game? That sounds bad, although 95 shots against in two games means an average of 47.5 shots per game, which is insane

1 Assist, not 1 shutout. And it was 5 goals on 90 shots, not 95.

3 GA and 2GA on 48 and 42 shots respectively. Crazy amount of shots to be giving up

That's what I was thinking - the team in front of him must be brutal defensively.

Actually just noticed his season save percentage is now up to .900 which means he's played very well in the second half. He's not that far off last season's pace and the team in front of him is considerably worse.

You know it's bad when your team is thankful to get back two-way superstar Daniel Sprong, who was a first round draft pick who fell to the second round because scouts thought his two-way game was sketchy.

Mangiapane was finally held off the score sheet last night but is back on it tonight with an assist through 40 mins - colts are down 4-2.

He needs just 3 goals to tie the franchise record set by Bryan Cameron (who did this in his 19/20 yo season) and just 2 more to match his point total for last season in 8 less games. Pro-rated for a 1.75 ppg pace which puts him at just under 120 for a full 68 games played and its a noticeable increase year over year from 1.529 which got him the 104 points last year. Pretty impressive stuff coming from Andrew who is now listed at 5'10 182 lbs at ohl.com which is 12 lbs up from HDB and 6 lbs up from eliteprospects.

Im most excited to see this guy turn pro and grow in the Ahl next year.

OHL Coaches poll. Mangiapane wins Eastern conference most underrated and best skater. Andersson voted 3rd hardest shot in Eastern conference.

Spoiler!

The fact Andrew Mangiapane was voted most underrated player in the OHL with 50 goals and 100+ points says a lot about type of player he is..
