Also... haven't had a dick in a while and now we have one AND a Johnson.

What a fun game last night. Wish I could have been at the dome. Thankfully I will be at the dome for the remaining home games.
So many options for my next jersey. Whose jersey do I get...
Tkachuk, Backlund, Giordano, Hamilton, Monahan..

Lost in all the fun... Gaudreau passed Backlund last night to take the team lead in points.
Gaudeau 52
Backlund - 50
Monahan - 49
Hamilton - 47
Hamilton's point totals are so impressive considering he sits 3rd on our team in powerplay icetime per game from the blueline. 2:16 a game is pretty paltry for a player of his talent. That's a full minute to minute 1/2 behind the leaders.

Monahan leading goalscorer, Gaudreau leader in points, Flames above Oilers in the standings.
It's the natural order of things

What? Doughty was moving in to hit him.
It has always been the case that players hit back as a way of defending themselves and getting body position.
We can debate the elbow, but calling Doughty 'unsuspecting' is just making #### up.

Absolutely fantastic game to be at - lots of energy in the crowd, entertaining, physical game, and the Flames completely owned the Kings for the entire contest. Great stuff.
I found the line matchups interesting. Gulutzan put Stajan's line up against Kopitar. Kopitar's line definitely had the edge in play, and scored a goal, but Stajan and co held their own.
More importantly, what that did, was allow the other three matchups to all be in the Flames' favour.
He had Backlund against the real #1 line for LA (Carter and that 70s line) and Backlund's line dominated. That right there won them the hockey game.
Then, Monahan's line comes out against - I have no idea who because they never touched the puck - and Gaudreau and Monahan absolutely annihilated them. And kudos to Chiasson as he was fantastic on that line.
Bennett, Lazar and Bouma also played really well. They never lit the lamp but they had chances and they played with energy. I really liked the line and I think there is definitely something to build on with Bennett and Lazar.
I thought Lazar played a simple and solid game and he threw his weight around. I continue to believe this was another wizard-like move from Mr Treliving.

Honestly, I would've loved to have him here; it bothers me that I have to cheer so hard against him.. but o-well.
He was sure unnoticable yesterday.

He was the Kings best player last night in my opinion.
But that may also be why the Kings are going to miss the playoffs.

The D just continues to get better.
Stone was great again. He is now 2-3-5 and +7 in his 10 games, and of course the Flames are 10-0-0 with him in the lineup.
In the 9 games that Stone and Brodie have played together, Brodie is 2-5-7 and +10. Insane.
Also, Giordano has gone into full beast mode. He is absolutely dominant out there. IMO, Gio is the most under-rated player on the team. And he is their best player. It is true that he wasn't for the first part of the season, but I always go back to the fact that the kids dominate early, and then the vets pick it up as the season moves on and the playoffs approach.
It's great to feel like we actually have a chance to win tomorrow in Washington.

Maybe we should leave Gio exposed in the expansion draft. He's old and is making too much money.

I am so happy for Giordano. He missed out on the 2015 run and the first round upset, and there were times when it was happening that it seemed to bother him (how could it not!) Here he has an opportunity to lead his team with a better collection of players into the post season. Giordano deserves this.
