I'll be riding. I may be cold and wet, but it's only for 20 minutes. I'm more concerned about my garden...

This. It's a bit dangerous to ride up family guy. Some blind corners in the trees with people coming down FAST. ROS is a personal favorite. Fun TTFs with chicken trails if needed.

Not too bad this morning, temperature was comfortable and all the rain gear worked as advertised.

Full rain covers for the shoes were awesome, glad I went and got them a couple of weeks ago.

would have been somewhat relaxing riding in that steady rain - but you guys may need a fatbike to get home tonight.
the disc brakes on my commuter are howling like a pack of howling monkeys - swapped out the pads and very little improvement. will likely have to pull off discs and sand, clean and possibly bake (rubbing alchol and blow torch - what could go wrong?) and then try and rebed them......next time the commuter need new pads, I may think about trying resin pads as some stuff I have read suggests they are softer and a little quieter

Which shoe covers do people here use? Probably going to pick some up for the ride home

I just have generic MEC ones, pretty good for both winter and rain

I am looking to add the following 3 parts to my hybrid/commuter bike:
1) Ergo grips (going for the 2 or 3 model for bull horns)
2) Snap-on container for my Axiom rear rack (size of a shoe box or smaller)
3) Straps for my pedals that I can wear any shoe type with
Without breaking the bank, are there any companies to focus on or design styles to look for in regards to points 2 and 3?
Would I need to buy new pedal with straps or are the straps that say they work with any pedal type usually good enough?

from what I have seen of those pedal straps there is usually a way to thread them thru your pedals to make them work.
my ultimate suggestion would be to not waste your money on those things though, as they can be frustrating to get you feet into. my personal recommendation would be buy a pair of cycling shoes with a rubber sole and cutouts for cleats. this way you can keep your regular pedals, and have some of the advantage of a stiffer soled shoe and if you are ever ready, you can go clipless.
I have the mens version of these shoes for commuting:

I've got the mens version of those shoes too. Had them for probably close to 10 years, they are fantastically durable and comfortable.

^ yes the shoes are comfy for sure; however, I have spank spike pedals that are slowly shredding the soles my my specialized shoes.......

So some rocket scientist decided it would be a perfectly safe idea to install bike racks IN the 7th st cycle track outside of Alfrono bakery. I have no idea how someone could think this was a good idea.

You're not going to believe this but I'm pretty sure the city did that. Saw quite a few tweets from excited folks to have our first ever "bike corral" there. I think Alforno is going hard on the cyclist friendly angle, the free air hose outside and now even more bike parking. Makes quite the contrast between them embracing the tracks and Buchanans down the street that fought them.

Hopefully someone has the money for good lawyers to cover the lawsuits when someone gets mangled on one of these.

If anyone is wondering, they are right here:

4-6 racks at the wider part, diagonally. With bikes in these racks the will stick out almost to the yellow line.

This is on the west side of Eau Claire? Strange. I live exactly 3 blocks east and have never seen this bakery. Am I now morally obligated to avoid them?
Millhouse: Are you into Rockshox reverb rebuilds and lacing wheels? If so, how do I book?
