The problem is that if you watch this episode it takes place just after Winter Soldier and they talk about what happened so you'll spoil the crap out of yourself.
That's what I was worried about. It forced me to watch Thor 2 earlier than I probably would have.
First I would watch The Winter Soldier if you haven't seen it yet before the latest episode. This week's episode will be on again next week before the new episode if you don't have any other means of watching it.

You mean the harddrive she gave to Ward for safe keeping? :P
At first I thought, Ward is doing this because he wants to take the emotion out of things and infiltrated Hydra, but its pretty clear that Hand is dead, also Saffron Barrows who played agent hand isn't in any more episodes, and they made a big thing out of showing her bleeding.

I half suspect that Hand isn't dead, and that this was all pre-meditated. They could have been iced for all we know. But I can't say for sure until we find out what they do with the people they shot on the plane.
And yeah, as I was watching Captain America, it became clear to me that May was contacting Fury. I totally thought Hand was Hydra during the movie as well, and was sure of it right until John (Paxton) revealed himself.

[spoiler]Maybe, but Ward went bad once before in the show, I think its more then likely that he's been program, and when Paxton started talking on the plane he fired off an activation phrase, just like Coulson reacts whenever anyone says the word Tahiti.
there's no indication that Barrows is signed up for any more episodes of Shield, I think she's legitimately dead, I figure that Ward going undercover like this is too cliche, what if he is the unwilling big bad of the season.
There are rumors that Graviton will be showing up later on in the episode, when we saw him last he was being locked away and we saw his hand.
Hydra's next move would be to release the villains from the Shield prisons including Graviton and that kid that controls the weather, could we also see the release of abomination as well?"

Yeah, I knew that this week would likely tie into Winter Soldier, but I do wish they had some kind of warning beforehand. I'm not super upset (going to see WS tonight) but I can imagine a lot of people would be.

What about the other two agents that got headshot? Didn't look like they were iced
Loved the tie-in with the Captain America movie. Wonder how things will go now that Shield no longer has the resources it used to.
Spoiler!
Also what is up with this? Foreshadowing or sloppy writing?
He was bad all along? Explains a few things though.

On the Hand Ice theory, first and foremost I think that a extremely experience agent like Garret would know that right away. Besides that they made a point of showing Hand's blood. She's dead.
On the that graphic, I never even twinged on that. That's a pretty amazing find.
Its not the first time in TV history that a major hero became the major villain. Look at Shaw on the show Chuck. He because a major villain for a year then had a recurring role for a while and a final wrap up in the final season.

Those two were from episode 8 and 16. Yea it wouldn't be the first time a major character turned bad, but it just seemed a little rushed for the writers to dangle the Skyeward thing in front of the audience before turning him into some kind of psychopath villain/triple agent all in one episode. We'll see how this plays out.
Just watched Captain America last night. I wonder how the show is going to be now that Shield's command structure is in shambles.
Not sure what spoiler protocol is this thread. Episode aired, but it still has shades of Winter Soldier in it, so I'll hide it in case.
Spoiler!
Guess I was completely wrong. Looks like Hand is legitimately dead and Ward is in fact a Hydra operative. I can't wait to see how Graviton plays out during the rest of this season!

yup every doubt went away when he shot the two guards in the back of the head, raided the Shield facility and probably killed hundreds.
Interested that he was recruited before he joined the team and not after. Can't see how he can come back to the side of light
