I had been using Firefox for the last 5-6 years and loved it. I had tried Chrome a couple of years ago didn't like it, FF seemed to have better add-ons and seemed to have less glitches.

But now I have switched to Chrome (about two weeks ago) because I found Firefox to be glitchy in the way it handled flash and pdf's. Chrome seems to be stable and smooth.

I like the speed of chrome but there is one weird thing...pages in chrome look bad. Like hazy almost. Any idea why?

I used to be a big supporter of Opera. Then I kept coming across sites it wouldn't load properly and simply said no thanks and moved to FF.

Had the exact same problem.

A browser should be fast and stable. No reason it should have a problem loading certain pages or crash over and over again.

Chrome does that the best.

I switched back to Firefox about a week ago. 12 is actually pretty nice. I'm surprised how fast it's become without having to spend an hour tweaking all the hidden settings.

I'm trying Chrome tonight for the first time. Not too bad so far, I'm not sure I see a huge difference in speed compared to FF, but Chrome definitely isn't slow either. Will probably try it out for a couple more days before I decide if I want to go back to FF or not.

Google just went MOOGle.

The irony is that the sound plays for me in Opera and IE when I play the analog synth And I get a message about how awesome it would be if I used a modern browser (ie: Chrome) but in Chrome the sound doesn't work lol.

Anyone here have a Mac?

I've been using Safari just because it's the default browser, but is it the best for Mac? Or is there another browser you'd recommend?

For the record, I enjoy Safari and haven't had a single problem with it.

According to another tracking service (and Microsoft), the reported stats are total bullcrap:

Works fine on Chrome for me.

I've used Chrome for a few years now. It's great, especially now that my company has moved from Exchange Servers to Google Mail. So it works seamlessly with all my work and personal Google Docs and mail.

Finally Chrome fixed the issues with the PDFs and had enough extensions to replace was I was using in Firefox, I switched and haven't looked back. Recent indicators that Chrome suffers from less web exploits due to its sandbox nature has reinforced that choice for me.

I am even making it a mission of mine to convince our head developer to tweak our internal apps so I can use Chrome for the whole company. Who knows how that will work though, he is pretty busy.
I find Chrome still struggles with PDFs from certain websites for some reason.

Other than that, love it.

Facebook may buy Opera. That gives me one reason to not use it:

I use Safari and experience very few problems with it. I haven't seen enough out of Chrome to push the change.

Browsers are pretty OS agnostic, aside from Safari and IE of course. On a Mac Safari is fine, but if want to explore a bit I'd go with Firefox if you want more control over the GUI, Chrome if you're okay with a more restricted GUI, and Opera if you want to be where most of the innovation happens even if that can mean a bit less stability. Realistically, any of those three have piles of add-ons, and are all pretty darn fast, and they all have quirks and limitations too. Personally, I use Firefox (on Linux, OS X, and the odd time I boot Windows) most of the time for the customizability and a few extensions I really like, but I keep Chrome/Chromium installed as a backup.

Browsers believe operating systems are unknowable?

But clearly your site is visited by people with intellect and sophistication, not those simpletons who are still using ie6.

Completely ignoring that Safari runs on Mac, Win32, and iOS, and across multiple CPU architectures.

IE is the only current browser that doesn't run on more than one OS or CPU architecture.
