Kim Thayil looked really old, but I loved Soundgarden.

the worst part about that transition was losing the American HD feeds for the Superbowl, complete with the american commercials

Last nights episode was fantastic. Seemed more comfortable, and the Standards and Practices bit was fantastic.

There are some write ups that say that Conan pranked Tom Hanks during the whale scene. I thought it was pretty obvious it was a pre-planned skit...unless it was up until Hanks got drenched.

Good either way.

The thing with Hanks was obviously planned before hand. One of the first things they ever did with Hanks was that big ball swinging and knocking him and his chair backwards way back when on Late Night.

But yeah, still funny. Tom Hanks is one of my favourite guests with Conan, they seem to have a genuine like for each other.

Has anyone pointed out that Conan's backdrop is eerily similar to Leno's first Tonight Show set?

and didn't Hanks completely soak Conan when he was the 2nd guest on the Tonight Show? i saw last night's episode as a revenge skit

They've done several variations of it over the years, a variation of the first one was used during Hanks last appearance on Late Night IIRC

the only issue i have with the show so far is the production values. the lighting and sound seem pretty bad, the set looks so dark and the audio muffled. the audience sounds like canned laughter at times, hopefully it gets better

Nope it doesn't. And hopefully it doesn't anytime soon!

Picked up a copy of The War for Late Night this morning at the Chapters in west Hills, only a handful of pages in but it's very good so far.

Damnit, was hoping to be able to watch some Coco to cheer me up after the game, but then I remembered he's only on Mon-Thurs.

I didn't realize till a few minutes ago when I tried to set a PVR that he didn't have shows on Fridays. I wonder what's on TBS on his timeslot on Fridays.

We'll never know, since we get the crappy version 'PeachTree' up here. Still don't understand that one.

This week's schedule (I thought Reggie Watts was awesome on the Live Tour):

http://www.teamcoco.com/schedule

REGGIE WATTS (@ReggieWatts | Facebook | Official Site)
Crazy. Brilliant. Silly. This fantastically talented award-winning comedian-musician has been called all of these things. Reggie is a one man band who single handedly composes incredibly catchy tunes right before your eyes using only his voice and his imagination - all the while injecting a heavy dose of humor as well! We were thrilled to have him open for us all summer on Conan's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour." Reunited and it feels so good…

This is old and has very little do to with anything other than it is Conan, but to me this is why he is the best. Maybe that isn't for everybody, but you just can't script something like this, he just goes, and it is hilarious
