The Canes keep all their top prospects. Don't even give up a guaranteed 1st. Seems like a massive win for the Canes.

Ville Koivunen being a point per game in the Finnish league as a 20 year old center is very impressive.

Buyers market for sure. Jeez. Lindholm trade looks the best so far.

Same tier as the prospects the Flames got . Nobody traded A tier prospect.

Brzustewicz is a much better prospect than anyone involved in this deal.

I really don't like when the conditions are dependent on how far a team goes in the playoffs, seems kind of cowardly lol

This is not a sellers market.

Conroy traded Lindholm at a fantastic time.

Carolina has so many prospects that they basically have to trade many of them away just to avoid overcrowding.

Not true at all.

Koivunen is a stud prospect. Big numbers in the Finnish elite league SM ligga as a 20 year old.

Point a game.

I struggle with the Liiga at times. It's a good league but I don't see it as being even close to the level of the SHL, for example. Koivunen is a nice piece and I think he could be an NHLer but I'd stop short of calling him a top guy.

Pretty rough return.
Makes me feel better about our returns.
Looks like Montreal robbed the jets based on the trades so far

Top young players and prospects have never been more valued.

Teams just don't give them up for older UFAs.

It's why I hated the Tkachuk trade.

Its funny how the wording on the picks are trying to be massaged into it seeming more favourable for the Pens.

Its a 1st unless the Canes don't win the cup, then its Philly's 2nd

I mean, that's a high percentage to be a second but yeah, call it a first if it makes you feel better.

Scott wheeler had the canes ranked 13, with these guys being 6,7 and 9 on his rankings. None of these were in the upper tier for him. Our equivalent would be Pelletier, Poirier and Suniev.

Agree with this, it seems absurd. Is it cause GMs are nudging each other to make the deal by saying stuff like "I am handing you the cup"?
