Love when you're ready to take the next sector in operations and you hear the whistles and war crys! All out war it's an unreal game so far! Very immersive!
Single player campaign finished at 7 hours for me, and that's focused on the objectives not trying find all the hidden items.
Overall enjoyed it, lots of diversity in the missions. I liked that stealth seemed to be just as a legitimate tactic as stealing a tank and rampaging or going in guns blazing. Tried all 3.
Kind of wish the spotting mechanic hadn't made it into the single player campaign, it's better than even the multiplayer version (spotted enemies stay spotted forever), and makes it too easy sometimes. Spotting combined with a silenced sniper rifle equals everyone dead pretty fast. So sometimes felt too much like a modern shooter.
Thought they treated the subject matter fine. There being 5 stories instead of one larger one made it more difficult to answer "why do I care about this person" so probably less emotional impact than they were trying for.
Game was continuously gorgeous.

Finally got to play a bit. Downloaded last night, tried playing at 33% downloaded like it said I could but it was laggy as hell, and that worried me because I thought it was my aging computer even though the beta ran fine. Luckily it runs great once it's fully installed.
Yeah the game really is phenomenal so far. I haven't enjoyed a Battlefield title this much since 1942 (and I sunk a great deal of time into 3 and 4). In some ways this is like a modern remaster of 1942, given that the flow of combat is more WW2ish than WW1ish, but I love that they've paid homage to the Great War and love the visceral, gritty nature of the combat as well as the crudeness of the weaponry and gadgets (I've had my fill of modern shooters). The only mode I've touched so far is Conquest, and I haven't hit the campaign yet. The experience with a decent pair of headphones is fantastic!

I'm playing on PS4, also.
Give operations a try!
Using the scout class lots and does that bolt action rifle ever pack a punch! You get the ping as it knocks the other players helmet off their head.
I picked it up and was enjoying it a lot but I crash almost every game to desktop - looks like directx issues. Any one else on PC having some issues? I'm fully updated driver wise.

Did you buy a new videocard? There are some crash issues with older cards I've been reading.
Yeah I will say that prior to the 9xx/10xx cards, I used to have constant crash issues with 6xx and 5xx series cards (never owned 7xx) in the Frostbite engine(s). I've read it's a VRAM issue with the old GDDR3 chips, though that wouldn't be your issues as the 770/780 used GDDR5...
I've found Operations to be a bit of a drag -- I'm not a fan of the multiplayer modes that go on and on and on. Especially when you're not on a great team and just keep getting worked over time and time again. I get it, we lost, why the extra attempts?
This is my first ever Battlefield and I'm still not that good but man I love this game. It is an absolutely gorgeous game with amazing backgrounds. I don't feel the need to grind for anything and just enjoy playing it for a few hours with nothing specifically gained.
My video game days might be done. I still haven't played this much outside of an hour over the weekend in campaign mode, and I haven't touched my VR set in a week or so. Just too busy doing life stuff.
