I think they may have been aware of that. Look at the contestants...now I know you can't judge a book by its cover, but almost all of them look to be outgoing, active 20 somethings. It looks more like a Big Brother cast than Amazing Race. I'm sure they knew what they were signing up for this time.

What's funny about the blind dating season is that even though the producers' matchmaking skills were horrible, and some of the teams didn't click at all, in the end, the top three teams that season were blind date teams. Also, the first three teams eliminated that year were existing couples.

So, from that perspective, the random teams might not be too bad.

Picking someone without knowing much about them is gonna be tough but I think Joey looks like a good combination of smarts and fitness. This is awesome! I never get to pick first.

Oh, I totally think they are aware of it and that was their intention. Big Brother, Travel Edition is exactly what it's becoming. I'm not a fan of Big Brother, so this is a disappointing turn for me.

What I find is that once the race gets going, it really doesn't matter what gimmick they used when picking the racers, in the end, it's still the same rules of the race and some people will be annoying and some will be entertaining.

The casting gimmicks only go so far and winning and losing is still just about who avoids finishing last on the elimination legs.
