I am sure Raymond will get a chance to play in this series by replacing Bollig if Hartley decides to go with speed. Bennett and Ferland will not sit out this series for the way they are playing. Raymond is still serviceable 4th liner who can help the Flames defensively and with his speed. You never know he'll start producing when he gets back to the lineup. Sitting out for 2 games or more will light a fire in his butt. The guy got speed and he score too.

Look at it this way...
We are in the 2nd year of a rebuild and, not only are we in the playoffs, but we have bona fide NHLers sitting in the press box, unable to crack the lineup, despite the fact that we have several key injuries.
It's good to have depth.

Can we just enjoy the playoffs for crying out loud? What a dumb thread.

Concert him to defense. He can play the same amount of shifts as Potter.

If some people can't think about 2 things at once, then just ignore the thread. The future of The Flames is always a good topic for me, 365 days a year, regardless if we are in the middle of the playoffs or not.

That's not the issue. The issue is that this thread is wrong. Period.
During the playoffs, he is needed.
Talking about whether he is still needed after the playoffs will - and should - be discussed after the playoffs.

Some folks seem ok to talk about it. If you're not one of them, well, you should know what to do by now.

So it's only OK to post in here if you agree with the OP? I'm not an expert, but I don't think that's how discussion forums work.

My heart tells me that he has some part to play yet, for good or ill, before the end.

Hartley is afraid to put him into a playoff game and I can see why. His best asset is speed but even that seems just "good" these days. He is soft. There is no way around it. The softest guy I've seen play in the NHL for a while.

If the Flames get into round two, I imagine we will see Raymond, Shore and Byron (if he gets healthy).
Hartley isn't afraid to play Raymond. He's been forced to play Bennett by Bennett's play.

I'm probably going to take some flak for this, but I think it's been a mistake not to play him so far. His experience might be what we need right now. And he still generates scoring chances which IIRC is what we desperately needed last game.

By all means disagree. That is, in fact, how discussion forums work. But posting things like 'this thread is junk' is pointless, and annoying to those of us who actually want to have the discussion. You don't like it? Great. Go somewhere you do. That's what we're doing, too.

What Bennett brings tonight should tell the tale. If he's not 100% and isn't able to contribute like he did in game 1 I think we'll see Raymond in game 4.

If Bennett struggles, and they decide to take him out, I'd rather see Byron over Raymond anyways.

Tdoesnt Raymond have ntc? Even if someone wanted him, he might not agree to go. Could be like Ribero last off season.

Unless the Flames get a great deal, you don't trade Raymond. There's nothing wrong with having plenty of depth on the wing.
If a kid forces him off the roster, so what?

Shore is the player who seems like the forgotten man in this series. I like what I've seen of him this season.

I was going to say that I didn't see anyone saying that, but then I saw EE's post. Fair enough. That's what I get for skimming, I guess.
