Kessler 6-2 202 , Perry 6-3 210 and Getzlaff 6-4 211 accounted for 78 of the Ducks 236 goals. These are 3 power forwards who pretty well make life miserable for the the goalies.

The Jets team seems to have been built to stand up to this kind of offence.

They have 8 defenseman who have played major minutes in the second half of the season... Byfuglien, Myers, Chairot, Pardy and Harrison all have a significant size advantage on the Ducks group of power forwards. Stuart 6-2 213 and Trouba 6-2 196 are their "small" d-men and then they have Enstrom who it appears is their only small d-man in their whole organization.

Their #9 d-man is Ellerby 6-5 220 who finally got in the lineup against the Flames in the last game of the year.

On the flip side the Ducks have a rather non-physical group of D-men who have Beauchemin at 6-1 207 who is their only physical d-man and Stoner 6-4 213 as their biggest guy. The Jets with Ladd, Wheeler, Frolick, Stafford, Lowry and Schieffle would have the physical advantage in driving the net. Lindholm and Vatanen and Fowler (all over 20 minutes a game) are going to take a pounding.

In the Playoff physical domination and dirty goals count for a lot more than they do in the regular season

I think that everyone would have picked the Kings to Handle the Ducks. The Jets and the Blues are the closest teams to the LA SC teams.

schedule added. First game is Thursday. First Winnipeg home playoff game in 19 years is Monday in 8 days.

So excited. No predictions from me; this is all gravy. I guess I would like the Jets to get at least 1 home win out of this. GO JETS!

The Ducks have been remarkably average as of late. But the problem with the Jets (as with the Sens and Wild) is that the goaltending is going to crash back to earth at some point. And the Ducks have the skill to make it happen.

Ducks in 6. The Jets will try but I think the Ducks ramp up their game in the play-offs

I hate the Jets as much as I hate the Oilers, Canucks and Riders. That said, I think they might be able to pull this off. Whoever wins this series does it in 7.

The Jets in 7. Saw them against the Blues the other night and they completely dominated them, especially in physicality.

I picked the Jets. The Ducks have been average in the last part of the season and Winnipeg has been much better especially after acquiring Myers.

I just hope it goes 7 and these two hammer each other every game so that whomever wins is battered and bruised going in to round 2

Kept waiting for the Jets to falter, but they didn't. Jets have been playing very good hockey as of late, and just kept getting the job done even through their injuries and suspension. They had every reason in the world to quit, but they didn't. I always pick teams that are riding high into the playoffs.

I hope the Flames meet them. I would love to really start hating the Jets again

It's not hard, and it's fun. I'm beside myself with vitriol for the Jets.

I've been hearing that every year about the Ducks. Other then their cup win, the Ducks are playoff chokers and are vastly overrated come playoff time. Since their cup win in '07, they have only advanced past the 1st round twice. Haven't made it to round 3 since '07. The SJ Sharks (those playoff choking Sharks!) have had more success then them recently in the post season, yet you never hear about the Ducks short-livings. At least the Sharks made it to the WCF on back to back occasions.

I see the Jets taking this one. A team running on adrenaline like the Jets have the size to compete with the Ducks. Pavalec is hot. Myers is stepping up huge. Anaheim seems to crumble come post season. Jets in 7.
