Isn't the concept of these places that they have animals rather than allowing you to bring animals in? I don't think they'd let you bring your cat in, for example, because they don't know if it might get the others sick, or something.

Correct, you don't bring the animals there. They are there for you already. More details out, they are going into the new building The Kensington on 10th street across from Midtown.
Will be called Regal Cat Cafe, here is their twitter: https://twitter.com/regalcatcafe

Was talk of a Good Earth in the Kensington building at one time. Also a rumour was floating that Midtown was going to open a bigger space in one of them.

I've heard that the Lido building got things rezoned so they can put in a bank and a World Heath. Not very exciting.

Good Earth was mentioned for The Kensington way back, but since there is no signage to indicate they are coming I'm guessing that is dead in the water, same goes for Midtown possibly expanding over there in some form of a brewpub. The Regal Cat Cafe is apparently going into one of the spaces, not sure when though.
Boourns to Lido possibly having a bank, unless it is RBC moving over there and redeveloping the land the current branch sits on just north of the St. John's building. Even an area like Kensington can be saturated by too much retail space and not enough demand to fill it all (especially if new builds are looking for higher rents). I'd be ok with the odd pure residential building going in along the main streets of 10th and Kensington Road.

IIRC I was in there once for a game and they did not. But that was quite some time ago.

Does anyone know how busy these shows might be? If I wanted to go to Home Alone on Christmas Eve, would I need to line up early?

It's been a slice ... but Pie Cloud is now closed.
Huge thanks to our wonderful guests & dear friends for making our time in Kensington so enjoyable.
Please continue to follow us on social media for on-going pie and dessert ideas, assorted foodie fun and updates about a future location, after suitable pie-cation.
Help us welcome to this great space a well-known, highly talented chef and his partners, who will be opening an awesome new restaurant very shortly.

Sad news, I really enjoyed their Banana Cream Pie.

They a had a great eggs bennie for brunch.
Big issue I think for them was they were slow a lot and then slammed and wouldn't have enough staff. We would never go when it was busy there because the service was very slow. However the food was really good IMO.
