First ride of the year for me - delayed by over an hour thanks to the rain.

Also the first time I've bailed on my bike in a loooooooong time, the parking lot at Edworthy (south side of river) was a nice sloped skating rink.

Still better than transit!

Rode for the first time in a long time today too. Aside from being pretty out of shape, it felt good to be back on a bike. Had the bike go out from under me on a patch of ice just after I passed some dog walkers. Hopefully they were impressed by how deftly I managed to stay standing.

I worked from home today and took the bike off the trainer for a ride out to Chestermere. A bit windy but the canal path is in reasonable shape all things considered.

I'll call it a 1.5 hour lunch and 40km.

One of the perks of owning your own business. But it also means I'm making up that time now.

I rode my summer bike for the first this year. I forgot how much more fun it is. Had a lot of trouble getting up the hill by my house without gears though. God, I love biking in the summer.

last week I ordered some parts for my bikes from a few places - today I receieved my new 28t oval chainring from blackspire.

the ring is a sweet blue color and will go with the black/blue color scheme I have for my thunderbolt. hwere is hoping that this will allow me to finally ride all of bragging rights and merlin

can wait to get back on this rig once the rear shock is replaced.

Anyone know a good place to buy a rigid replacement fork for my mountain bike(commuter). MEC doesn't have any that have a big enough axle to crown length. Don't want to spend a lot, either...

I'm sure you could find something at Goodlife Bike Shop in Mission for cheap.

I don't ride but I did see my first dead gopher on Glenmore last week. A sure sign that Spring is almost upon us.

I usually use one of the UK sites, Chain reaction, Ribble, etc etc.

There was some talk on Strava about getting a CP ride going this spring. I was thinking beginner/intermediate, mostly pathways (40kmish) to get the most amount of people out. Beers/wings/etc at the end.

Any interest?
