Well Washington could still lose.
Why did Philly pull the goalie? Detroit already got a point.

Pulling your goalie with that long left is so dumb

You basically are banking on not losing possession

Washington clinched a really weird way. Empty net on a tied game 1-1

Flyers obviously weren't clock watching the out of town and a regulation win was needed to stay alive. To me the pull was still too early but that's easy to say in hindsight

What a crazy sequence between both games. Flyers and Washington were tied. Detroit tying the game against Montreal with 3 seconds left officially eliminates the flyers. They didn’t know that when they pulled their goalie in a tie game with 3 minutes left which led to Washington scoring on the open net… which ends up being the game winner. Washington winning eliminates Detroit from the playoffs. Wild.

After Philly pulled their goalie, but that didn’t matter anymore, because Detroit had just tied the game, eliminating Philly.

I am happy that the Kraken are putting in an effort against the Jets, hope they get W or OTL/SOL.

You could argue every team deserving to be in the playoffs this year, but Washington. Terrible team overall. I can't say Pittsburgh's any better but their recent run made me want to see Crosby there more than Washington. I could've seen the Rangers taken to 7 by Pittsburgh, but now that it's Washington I could see it being over in 5.

Florida is about to beat Toronto and clinch 1st in the Atlantic with Boston losing today.

Which means we’re about to get Florida-Tampa

…and Boston-Toronto LOL.

That’s heartbreaking for Wings fans to have all these epic extra time wins to stay alive, only to miss the playoffs on the regulation wins tie breaker.

Would love to see a baseball style play in game if teams are tied on points for the final playoff spot.

That icing in Montreal was kinda fishy. They made zero effort to go after the puck. Glad Washington won if Detroit was going to make the playoffs off the back of that.

The last moments in regulation of the Detroit/Montreal and Philly/Washington games were almost as if scientists had set up a series of predestination paradoxes or temporal loops in a controlled special relativity experiment.

I'm just glad the Hawking radiation prevented a black hole from forming and swallowing the planet.

No way, what an amazing finish to the season. Everything went right and they still missed. That's a team that could easily take a step backwards next season and be looking at a top10 draft pick.

Kinda wanted to see what Crosby could do these playoffs with how he has been playing.

Washington and NYI are going to get stomped.
