That's Pitts problem not MAFs.He's under no requirement to accept trade.

Obtain Thomas Greiss from the NYI. I've always thought he'd be a great goalie given the chance. Or even Halak can be had for cheap.

Default So... who are our goalies next season?

Bishop: 5 years, 5.75M
Gillies: 2 years, .975M.

Bishop is the perfect goalie for Gillies to learn from.

If Parsons and Gillies develop, we'll be rich in a position and can then handle it when that situation develops.

We can't go into next year without high end goaltending. It's too important of a position.

that's a lot of years and a lot of money for a goaltender who really had a pretty poor season.

Well it's the Flames problem if they want to acquire his services.

Also 30 years old that seems to get injured a fair bit for a goaltender.

I think that Treliving has learned his lesson with temporary goalie fixes. I think he goes all in on a proven starter, I have no idea where it will come from, but I just think it will happen.

Does the emergence of Parsons make Gillies a trade chip?

I say that onlymif the Flames are considering making a move for a guy like Mrazek whom is a younger starting goalie.

Prefer to hold onto Gillies but if the team can land a long term number 1 and have a great prospect in Parsons perhaps there is a deal to be made?

I'm leery of the long term deal with Bishop as well ...

what about Halak? Guy didn't get a fair shake in Long Island last year, was solid at the end of the season. No way he gets term and big dollars, platoon him with Gillies and move on.

Gillies probably doesn't have a lot of value, so I can't see that making much of a difference.

This might sound crazy, why not go after Cory Schneider. Devils not going anywhere for a few years. Schneider might not want to be part of that. A first and prospect should do it.

This has to happen before any new goalie comes in. Also we give up a pick if we sign Elliott, that pick can better used.

It's another half measure. If we get Halak, we're going to face the same struggles of inconsistency and poor play.

Bishop doesn't have to be THE guy, but we need a surefire stabilizing consistent presence back there. It's a necessity. The goalies almost buried the regular season again this year, only to fight their way back in, only to sink the team in the playoffs.

It's soul crushing.

So the thread is "who ARE our goalies" and not who "SHOULD BE" our goalies so I will have to assume that the answer is: Ryan Miller and Jonas Gustavsson. Miller on a 6 year 6.5 million contract and Gustavsson on a 7 year 4.5 million contract.

Phil Kessel is currently under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins through the 2021-2022 season. He also has a modified NTC.

This offseason with expansion draft will give the Flames a lot of chances to get a goaltender on cheap(hopefully.) A young goaltender will be available, Tablot before coming over to Oilers played a total number of 57 games, than he played 56 games in his first season and 73 games this season(and he has been dynamite this regular season and in the playoffs jinx), so it does not have to be a goaltender with lots of NHL experience.

Not against him totally, but I don't know about Halak. The price would be right, I'd think. Is he any better than Elliott or Fleury (if he'd come here)?

I'd stay away from long-term deals as well. They need a number one, but if the Flames are really high on Parsons and Gillies (two of their top three prospects in my opinion), then when do they get their shot?

A place-holder for Gillies or Parsons is my favourite idea right now. If the Flames go the place-holder route, he better be darn good, though.
