Not that it makes any difference. Genuine ‘smart spenders’ (and there are a few in sports, but not many) don't count success in wins, they count it in bums on seats and dollars on the bottom line. If (for instance) the Phoenix Coyotes won the Stanley Cup, but lost $50 million doing it because they were playing in front of three armadillos and a dead rattlesnake, that would not be a smart use of $50 million.
