If you say "working hard or hardly working?" you deserve to have rabid ocelots attack your genitals and shred them like a bag of taco cheese.

And if in smalltalk someone asks how your weekend was don't you dare say "too short". Hilarious. We get it. Weekends are shorter than weeks and you'd like them to be longer. Thanks for pointing that out.

I asked a girl at work if she had plans for the weekend. "Oh, just some adulting" I let it slide because I had no idea what she meant. Someone explained it to me later. I feel out of touch sometimes when talking to twenty somethings, and I'm only mid thirties.

"I'm not going to lie to you ..."

I had a coworker who overused this phrase to the point that I can't handle it.

"How was your weekend Nick?"
"I'm not gonna lie to you, it was great."

"You get that thing done Nick?"
"I'm not gonna lie to you, yes I did."

"You going out tonight Nick?"
"I'm not gonna lie to you, no, I'm not."

"LIE TO ME NICK! You goddamn lie to me!"

#### that. You don't like the way something is, do something about it. Far too much apathy these days.

Life is short (what? Life is the longest thing that your going to do)

At least he/she died doing what he loved (What she died screaming when her parachute failed and she plunged at terminal velocity into a parking garage, but hey at least she checked that one off of her bucket list)

Eh man what can you do? (Maybe something)

Using the word "literally", when they mean "figuratively", or "metaphorically"

The shortening of words or sayings that were already irksome (e.g., "LOL", "whatevs", "totes", "obvi", "presh", "YOLO")

But that "definition of insanity" one is a good one. That drives me crazy.

Norm Macdonald did a bit on this on his latest stand-up special. It's on netflix. He went through a few other sayings he thought were dumb.

Maybe less of what people say, rather than how they say it, but every time I hear someone pronounce nuclear as "nuke-ulur", or jewellery as "jew-lury".

I hate hearing the phrase "I've just got a quick question", because I know I'm going to be there for awhile.
