Ha! My wife saw the complaint somewhere (probably Reddit) and sent it to me saying I'd probably get a kick out of it.

If you analyze Gary Bettman's involuntary eye movement the moment Edmonton is announced as winning the McDavid draft lottery you can see he knew who the winner was in advance. Google the visual cues of a liar and he is a textbook example of it.

Wash out your mouth and bleach your brain, sir! No Oilers anything should ever hang in the Saddledome rafters.

I think I could name a few Oilers I'd be ok with hanging from the Saddledome rafters...

As long as you take them down before the smell gets too intense, I suppose.

Listening to Edmonton AM this morning on my way to work, the sports guy closed out his section with the beginning of the world hockey championship. He talked a bit about the tournament and the players and in closing added: Connor McDavid played for Team Canada last year.
I know it sounds petty, but they just find a way to mention him no matter what they're talking about and even if what they're talking about has absolutely nothing to do with him. God I'm tired of hearing that name.

It's going to get worse before it gets better unfortunately. We will have to put up with this for his duration as an Oiler until he hits UFA and leaves.

Well, yeah - everyone in that room already knew who the winner was. The actual draw is done about 15 minutes prior - what we see on television is solely for public consumption.

No, they film the actual draw (that takes place before the show) and then play it later. The video is Bettman's live reaction.
And yes, he and the others are all mortified.

Yeah, the team representatives that witness the draw are sequestered until the reveal. As an Oiler fan I thought you would be well versed in the whole lottery process.

I agree with you, but Clarkey was saying Bettman rigged it in favour of the Oilers and that he knew they won beforehand. Why Bettman rigs a lottery in favour of a Canadian city that needs no help escapes me.

It would have been about 830? Maybe a bit earlier or a bit later but around there. I think I posted about 2 mins after I heard it. So maybe 835.
