West Jet one day sale!
Hey everyone,
It is my duty as a Travel Professional to let you all know (if you don't already) that West Jet is having a massive one day only seat sale today. $11, for one direction! I got $45 outbound, and $11 inbound Vancouver - Calgary - Vancouver during Stampede. Total incl tax: $139 - now that is about as cheap as it gets.
www.westjet.com
Air Canada has now matched the sale:

My bad, it's $139 a flight by the time you pay taxes and every thing. Still bloody cheap, and worth booking for sure!

That's the thing, it works out to about $69 each way between YVR and YYC in the summer. That is unheard of.

yah its a great deal...just let my mom know that she could go and visit her dad for 11 bucks there (plus taxes etc) and 45 bucks back (plus taxes etc). That's nuts.
I want a Halifax based flight that cheap though!

I'm such a dork, I've been telling everyone I know to check out this deal.
I agree about a Halifax based flight... particularly a deal between Halifax and Calgary. It is ridiculously expensive to fly between those two destinations.

I heard about this earlier. That is unheard of pricing. I should book a trip back here for the summer

Damn. Shame I can't get a $139 flight around the Memorial Cup. That would have made for a cheap and easy trip.
Edit: Hmmm. Fly into Vancouver for $11 at 7 AM on May 27, go to game, leave Vancouver at 9:30 the same night, all costs are $250 without a hotel. That's tempting

Sure they do, I fly the Montreal-Calgary route all the time (they have a direct flight). It's not part of the seat sale though.

Screw it... just took advantage of this, gonna go to Vancouver for the Memorial Cup. A ticket is going to cost me more than the flight, lol.
$11 flight on Tango, -$5 for no checked baggage, -$3 for no Aeroplan miles. You just can't beat a $3 flight.

This is awesome! I've booked to come home three times during this sale. Once in May (Surprising mom! + the outside chance the Red Mile will be kickin' ) Once in July for Stampede, and once in August for the long weekend (which I have made longer). All for a total of $355, which was the cost of one roundtrip ticket last Xmas. I used a combo of Air Canada and West Jet in order to get the $11 + $45 in every case.
Woohoo, I'm so happy about being able to come home so much during Calgary's pleasant months!
