Jackets Sign 4
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed four players to new contracts.
Jay Fehr (C) - Currently playing in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings, Fehr has put up very good numbers and is already over a point a game this year. Fehr went undrafted but was invited to the Wild training camp but had to turn it down due to a leg injury. He could turn out to be a decent player when given the chance.
C.J. Stretch (C\RW) - Currently playing for the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL, Stretch is playing at a point a game rate which is what is normal for him. Like Fehr he went undrafted but he was invited to the Sharks camp where he impressed but ultimately was sent back. He showed that he has a nose for the net and can grind it out as well. I believe that he can also turn into a decent player if given the right chances.
Kevin Connauton (D) - Currently playing for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. Connauton was drafted in the 3rd round by the Vancouver Canucks. This year he made the jump from the NCAA where he was with the Western Michigan University to the 'W'. It seems to have paid off being so close to the team that has drafted him as he is almost at a point a game which is great for a defenseman. He is also a big guy (6'2" 195) and is not scared to throw the body around.
Nate Guenin (D) - Plays for the Penguins in the NHL, he was a recent call up due to all the injuries they have had. He will be a decent call up for my team.
