With the whole Penguins/Caps series going on and how Crosby and Ovechkin have both performed through the first 2 games, I was wondering if we could get a poll about those 2 regarding who would you rather have on your team/who would you want to build around.
Hey can we have a poll on this? We have the thread about who WILL be the next coach, but there are so many pages to try to get a good feel from. Also, this poll would be about YOUR choice vs who you think it will actually be.
Thanks in advance! Also, please feel free to shorten the list if need be.
Who would be YOUR choice as Flames next coach?
1. Darryl Sutter
2. Brent Sutter
3. Jim Playfair
4. Dave Lowry
5. Jaques Lemaire
6. Tom Renney
7. Peter Laviolette
8. Marc Crawford
9. Pat Quinn
10. Ryan McGill
11. Someone Else (I will post)
In the other sports forum, can the Mod's make a poll in the Blue Jays thread on whether or not the Jays should trade Halladay this year, next year, or not at all?
With all the talk of immigrant parents, going on here, I wouldn't mind seeing a poll (and a thread) created that asks something along the lines of:
born in Canada
Not born in Canada
--
White
asian
indian
black
NA indian
--
Of course it would have to be the type where you can pick more than one option. If mods are feeling up to it you could even add countries of origin for families like:
West Euro (Ital, Ger, Fr, Sp, Eng etc)
East Euro (Ukr, Pol, Russia, etc)
Middle East
Africa
South America
South Asia (India, Phillipines etc)
Asia (China, Japan etc)
Australia
other
I'm always curious of the makeup of CP. Also depending on how big the poll can be mods could add something like (as an extension of the born in Canada/Not born in Canada):
Parents are:
1st generation
2nd generation
3rd generation
more than 3rd Generation Canadian
Just an idea.
One other thing, whilst browsing old CP threads it appears that at one time making Polls was given to all users and ended, from what I can tell, less than a day later. Obviously with that experiment failing horribly mods probably don't want to outright do it again. However, I was wondering if it is an all or nothing kind of thing. Maybe if only "experienced" posters were given polling power with a limit of one poll per week or something like that. I know that might be hard to enforce but if only a certain number of posters had it, it would be easier to enforce.
I was having a talk with a friend and his favorite move was Bouwmeester but mine was Brent Sutter... I am sure this is going to be a 2 option poll but I am curious to see
Favorite off-season move?
a) Jay Bouwmeester
b) Brent Sutter
c) Nigel Dawes
d) Fredrik Sjostrum
e) Brian McGratton
f) Anton Stralman
g) Salary dumps (Primeau, Vandermeer)
Can a wise and generous mod make a poll out of this thread?
How do you and your significant other manage finances?
1) Everything is shared equally
2) Everything is shared proportionately
3) A percentage of our income goes together, the rest is ours to keep
4) Everything is seperate
5) None of the above, will post
I thought your post would look more like my edit when I saw it.

In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Flames in Calgary, how about a series of polls assembling, by position, the All Time Flames All Star Team? Maybe First and Second All Star Teams.
Break it down into first, second, third, fourth lines, etc. Backups. An entire roster.
Include coaches and managers.

What is your opinion on the news that the Flames got vaccinated in a private clinic?
1) They went about it the right way, through the Government Approved clinic
2) They were wrong, and should have to wait in line like everyone else
3) They should not have been vaccinated at all, they do not fall in the "high risk group"
4) I don't know
Should you be able to refuse to pay a mandatory tip?
1) Yes
2) No
