Nothing to see here, apparently the flight continued on normally to its destination (engine surge):

These are the people that shot the pictures/video of the Disney plane on Wednesday, here's a reel:
On Facebook WS says there's lots more pics and videos to come.

Someone needs to make this into an animated GIF with "NOPE" in it.

I'm assuming this is a new plane, so Boeing would have painted this? Wonder if they have a separate facility for custom paint jobs? The amount of labour that goes into that must be extraordinary compared to a single colour.

It was not a new plane, before this it wore the special "Care-antee" livery.
Think it was the same paint shop that does all the other stuff over at Boeing.

Can anyone tell me if WestJet still allows little kids to quickly see the cockpit before boarding starts?

Not sure, but I think your best bet is to ask an FA during the flight if they could pop in after arrival.

Not only kids. Last WS flight, they let me and my friend sit and snap a few pictures... she 23 and me 22.

Usually we are happy to have kids, or anyone who is interested come for a visit before or after the flight. Of course it can be a busy time for us, but most of us really enjoy showing off our machine or answering some questions.
If it is for kids, then if you pre board it is usually a good time.
If the crew up front is busy on a certain day (or you happen to get someone who is a little less sociable), don't hesitate to ask another time. We really do enjoy it.

Three comments.
I bet the guy who said socks feels like a loser.
Surely, there is a Best Buy closer to the airport then the downtown Best Buy.
Awesome, just awesome.

There is a Best Buy just up in the Sunridge area, making the 17th avenue location an odd choice. But it warmed this latte-sippers heart.

I don't even get the hype. Unless you can afford Y+ or better, 9 abreast on AC's 77W is better (until they change them all), or 8 abreast on a 330.

The hype is for those of us that like to take pictures of planes, can't wait to finally see a 787 in the air.
July is going to be good, we'll have AC 77W's on the FRA and LHR routes, KLM operating a 772 some days of the week, and now BA with the 788, then throw in the not yet announced (but credibly rumoured) Aeromexico 787 charter flights in July/August to MEX.
It's going to be a great summer for spotting in 2014.

Video has been viewed over 5 million times across various platforms. The positive PR boost is immeasurable... somebody at WS needs a raise for sure.
