CP 2024 Ordered Draft List (April 9th Edition) #10
Each pick you choose who you would take if you were the Flames GM. Not a mock draft of the standings. Who the Flames would pick at #2 (skipping #1) through say #12 or greater if we see the value.
When done we will have CP consensus list for the Flames.
I'll run a few a day with a cut off around total votes so this doesn't take two weeks to complete.
My issue with him is, IMO nobody should be drafting a player inside the top-15 who does not have offensive allstar potential. These are the players that are near impossible to acquire via trade and/or too expensive to sign as UFAs.
The 2nd tier roster players are much easier to develop and/or acquire via trade or free agency.
For me, I might only have 3 guys left (Yak, Eis, Hel) before I’d start going Parascak. He’s one of the younger guys in the draft, and what he did in this rookie season in the WHL (105pts in 68gp) is remarkable, as well he has continued it into the playoffs. Also satisfies my Western Canadian bias (from Lethbridge).
Voted for Helenius. From my reading and watching there's a top 2 line center there. At worst a top 6 RW. I like this player a lot, has one hell of a hockey IQ.

Voted Hague as I feel he has the best chance of being a 1C or 1D. I really like Helenius but I don't see 1C on a cup contender. Silayev I see a Zadarov clone. Yakemchuk, I'm skeptical of but I can't place my finger on why. Eiserman, I don't like players who refuse to work on parts of their game. They either don't make the NHL, or end up being not being difference makers generally. Hague is still 17, leads his team in points, exploded in the second half at almost 2.0 points/game. He has the size and skating to be a 1C even if that outcome is the 80-90 percentile.
