Icon31 GTD Flames vs. Kings

I have never started one of these but today is my wife's birthday! She is turning 41 so I predict a 5-0 win! It would be 4-1 but due to the kings "own goal", 5-0 it is!

I believe the Flames need to win this so they don't meet up with the Hawks in the playoffs, they scare me.

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!

There's threads dedicated to game days, but then there's the CRAZINESS OF GAME THREAD DAYS!

Also, do we see Gillies tonight by any chance? Or would we save him for San Jose?

Have to think Gillies, Lazar, Freddie, Wideman and Andersson are all in.

Would love to see Gillies get a W in his first start.

Excited to see Gillies if he's in. The Kings are actually the perfect team for him to get his feet wet. No high flying offence and not a ton of run and gun hockey.

I just pray there are no injuries. Kings can't really play the role of spoiler in the standings. But they certainly can if things get rough. Like when Regehr injured Hudler in '15 and it carried over in the playoffs.

I can see this game being a loss, as I don't expect most of the top guys to get a ton of ice time.

Who all do you think sit?
Tkachuk might, due to history against the Kings.
Stone because of his recent injury.

I really think they sit guys who have been recently hurt / nursing nagging injuries etc.

Stone, D.Hamilton, Tkachuk. Maybe one of Gaudreau, Backlund or Brouwer.

I don't think positioning is a concern to the Flames any more. Health likely is.

My guesses: Stone, Gio, Tkachuk and Gaudreau.

Ran into Robyn Regehr this morning. Always love seeing former Flames still in the city in retirement. Guy is still just a massive human being, and those ears are shocking, the true tunnels of death.

they really should rest folks up if they need it, in the last 2 games.

I can't decide what's more important, resting guys up or goign into the playoff on a cold streak though...

I hate to say it but this is probably the first (and only) game this season that I really don't care if they win or not. Obviously I want them to, but I'm more concerned about the team staying healthy and preparing for the playoffs. At this point we are pretty much guaranteed either Chicago or Anaheim anyway. If it's Chicago then we need our talent rested and ready to bring their A game. If we get Anahem that first round is going to be a bloodbath. Either way this is a perfect opportunity to rest key players or guys with nagging injuries and also to see what we've got in Lazar, Rasmus, Gillies, & co. I love that we have the option instead of scratching & clawing right to game 82 just to get in.
