Guess it's no different than boxing matches selling closed circuit tv tickets at the arena. You can take part in the atmosphere, but you're viewing the action through TVs rather than watching it at a seat in the arena.

Myself and a couple of friends got those for a game in Calgary last year. Was awesome, actually. We were under a staircase. I was closest to the stairs as I was the shortest of us. You have a little bar in front of you to put your drinks. Was really convenient for going back and forth to get beer - a little too convenient as I (barely) remember.

I completely believe that these will be sold out.

Oilfans are just gluttons for punishment.

The team was garbage for a decade, raked their City over the coals on one of the worst arena deals in recent memory and just as soon as things start looking positive they take the opportunity to once again swiftly kick their fans square in the junk.

At least they're consistent.

After 11 years out of the playoffs I think Oilers fans forget you need to win each round to get to the conference finals. They talk as if it is a foregone conclusion that they are making it through. Not much playoff experience on that roster.

Also lost in all the Pay-to-not-watch-the-game hoopla and one of CP's bigger trolls masterfully trolling this thread is the fact that the Oilers are blatantly ripping off the Flyers with their "Orange Crush".

Way to pick a winning slogan. Copy the NDP and the Flyers.

They suck. You basically just end up at the bar or trying to find some people in suites you know.

The $80 tickets aren't standing room only tickets. They are apparently "stand in the concourse and watch on the TV screen because you won't be allowed to actually see the ice but at least you're in the building" tickets. Good grief.

Yeah those are ridiculous.

I guess they are selling a bunch of extra guess passes in the Sky Lounge Club, and possibly the Sportsnet Club as well.

If I was paying $400 for those I'd be pissed about having a bunch of extras in my vip area.

It's an Oilers are NO GOOD thread. Because it's on a Flames board.

It's fine, support them. We don't care that you do. But do your fanboy oozing in the appropriate place, bro. Look at the board you're on. Look at the thread you're in. It's not that hard to figure out. Either you have a lacking sense of self awareness or you're subconsciously trolling. Either way it looks silly. You did the same thing in the past trumpeting about the Jets though, so I'm not surprised.

I really don't understand the hate for the Oilers selling concourse tickets, if Oiler fans are dumb enough to pay $80 (they are) to watch the game on the screen in the concourse then all the power to them.

What's the over/under on how long it's going to take to get through the inevitable, overly pompous pre-game ceremony tonight?

It won't be finished by the time the puck is supposed to drop for game 2.

Of the Finals.

I was there for a concert in September, noticed they had a huge area before your tickets got scanned and I thought it was a huge waste of space. I'm guessing this was the plan all along.
