With the Flames 5-2 victory over the Kings, the red snake stayed above the black line for the 5th consecutive game. This exceeds the season ending streak the green snake was on during its last 4 games of the 2014-15 season.
The Flames move to 7-1-0 in March, and are 17-3-1 in their last 21 games. The red snake is now 1.707 points above the black line, the highest it has been all year. It moves to 2 points above the hotter, green snake (also, the most it has been all year), and remains 18 points above the easier, purple snake. A 5-5-0 record in the remaining 11 regular season games would allow the red snake to finish with 96 points. It does not take a rocket surgeon to see that the red snake requires a 1.000 PPG pace to finish at 96 points!

After game 53, our beloved Red snake was still slumming it, checking out that nasty, sloppy purple snake from just a couple chairs away.
Now 20 games later, the red snake is 18 blocks clear of the fugly thing.
Bravo, Red snake, bravo.

Hey squiggs96, if the red snake is above the green snake, why is the green snake considered the "hotter" one? Are you using a different metric to compare hotness, or is this just a remnant of text because the red snake has been below the green snake for most of the season?

Probably because in comparison to the purple snake, the green snake is indeed hotter. However, none are more hot than the red snake!! Dat Snek is fine!

red snek eyed the easier purple snek in one moment of weakness for one glance on Wednesday night...but decided that it could never go back. red snek wants to be on top of green snek, horizontal AND diagonal.

Love the graph. It's actually quite amazing that we will make the playoffs twice in the last three years. But out of the 246 total regular season games.....we only held a playoff spot for what 45-50 total games.

I don't think that's accurate. Snek shows 96 point pace, not if team is in the playoffs. The Flames have been in a playoff spot for most of this year by my recollection. Even when they were playing like garbage, they were in the spot because they had played like 6 more games than everyone else.

The green snake was above the black line for 34 of 82 games, including the last 4.
The purple snake was never above the black line. The closest it came was 0.341 points below, after the second game. A 4 game losing streak followed, and it was never seen again.
The red snake has been above the black line for 5 out of 72 games. It is guaranteed to be there at least 6 games, but hopefully it acts all red snake like, and stays above the remaining 10 games.
